Useless. He’ll use it a few times as a subject of conversation, then it will hardly ever be used again. He and others will go back to using their hands and serving trays. If he just sticks with traditional mugs with handles he could actually carry more mugs at a time and it would be more sturdy than that clumsy device.

So this might be cool at your house after you're 5 beers in, but otherwise this is a solution looking for a problem. Overengineering is just as much a problem as underengineering a solution.
