This is so humiliating. Jake Tapper is actually doing text interviews with Trump now — like that’s a real thing. The answers are pure gibberish, but Tapper still finds time to grovel, wishing Trump’s “vision for Gaza” succeeds. Not a single mention of his obvious mental decline. What a...

Victor Davis Hanson didn’t waste time getting to the heart of it. He turned his attention to what he called the “greatest cover-up in the history of the U.S. presidency”—and the journalist he believes was instrumental in making it happen: CNN’s Jake Tapper. Hanson began by pointing to the release of Original Sin, the new book co-authored by Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson. The book chronicles the internal Democratic scramble over Joe Biden’s declining mental state and the behind-the-scenes efforts to keep him in the 2024 race long past the point of plausibility. But for Hanson, the timing wasn’t just curious—it was damning. “We all have problems with this,” he said. “And it’s essentially Jake Tapper. It’s a coauthored book, but it’s Jake Tapper.” Tapper, he noted, isn’t just another reporter. “Jake Tapper is a CNN grandee, seven figure salary, kind of an iconic figure in this left wing media outlet.” Which made what came next, in Hanson’s view, all the more disingenuous. For four years, any mention of Biden’s cognitive decline was treated as political heresy. According to Hanson, no one was more aggressive in silencing dissent than Tapper himself. “If anybody questioned the obvious mental decline of Joe Biden, his cognitive difficulties, Jake Tapper… tore them apart,” he recalled. One example stuck out. When Laura Trump commented as early as 2020 that Biden appeared to be in decline, Tapper dismissed her remarks by suggesting she was mocking a childhood stutter—an argument Hanson described as “absolutely ridiculous.”

Stephen Miller steamrolled Jake Tapper on CNN’s own airwaves over Venezuela — and Tapper never recovered. Rather than engage the substance of Miller’s argument, Tapper reached for the oldest cable-news escape hatch: pretend not to understand it. TAPPER: “I don’t even know, honestly, what you’re talking about right now.” Miller didn’t let it slide. MILLER: “You love doing that smarmy thing, Jake, and I was hoping you’d be better than that this time.” Tapper tried to reset. TAPPER: “I asked you if there would be an election in Venezuela. That’s what I asked. I said, why was the president so quick to dismiss Machado? You answered that question…” But Miller cut straight to the point. MILLER: “Because the objective, Jake, is the security and stability for the people of Venezuela. With our help and leadership, that country will become more prosperous than it has ever been in his whole history.” TAPPER: “But the woman running Venezuela right now is part of the Maduro regime.” MILLER: “There will be there will be conversations, Jake, about all of these guideposts along the way. The reason why I was giving you that speech, which I know you didn’t want to hear, is because you’re approaching this from the wrong frame.” MILLER: “This neoliberal frame that the United States job is to go around the world and and demanding immediate elections to be held everywhere immediately, all the time, right away. To create these vacuums.” TAPPER: “That’s not what I think. But you invaded the country. We went into the country and we seized the leader of Venezuela!” That’s when Miller unloaded with both barrels and finished off the argument. MILLER: “DAMN STRAIGHT we did!” MILLER: “The point Jake is that we’re not going to let tinpot communist dictators send rapists into our country, send drugs into our country, send weapons into our country, and we’re not going to let a country fall into the hands of our adversaries.” End of debate.

Rep. Elise Stefanik just DOG WALKED Jake Tapper on his own show: “This is TYPICAL CNN!” Tapper tried to claim Trump was calling for genocide against Iran — Stefanik shut it down instantly. TAPPER: “Is calling for wiping out an entire civilization bad or good?” STEFANIK: “Of course it’s bad! That is not what he is calling for. He wasn’t calling for genocide.” TAPPER: “You’re entire civilization will die?” STEFANIK: “It was targeted toward the Iranian terrorist regime.” TAPPER: “Agree to disagree...” STEFANIK: “This is typical CNN. This is TYPICAL CNN!” “If you want to compare the president of the United States to the university presidents who failed to call for the condemnation of calling for the genocide of Jews, that’s on you, Jake.” “The world saw how morally equivocating those university presidents were.” “If you want to make that comparison, that’s on CNN.” TAPPER: “I’m just asking you if you have the same standard for somebody...?” STEFANIK: “Of course, genocide is bad across the board, Jake.” “President Trump effectively brought the Iranians to the table.” “He effectively delivered a ceasefire.” “And he is going to effectively deliver peace to the Middle East to stop, frankly, the killing [from] the Iranian terrorist regime, which kills their own people and has created havoc across the Middle East.” Stefanik refused to let CNN twist Trump’s words into a genocide narrative.
