I am proud to partner with the MTA and NYC DOT in announcing $15 million for the replacement of Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs), one of the leading sources of air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in the South Bronx. There are 1000 TRUs polluting the South Bronx. Replacing up to 1000 TRUs is the equivalent of removing up to 330,000 daily truck trips from the Cross Bronx Expressway.
