This is the best method I've seen for determining exactly how much time was left on the clock, and why Michigan got one more play.

Based on this, it should be time expired. If you're within 0.1sec or so with a rough reaction to the snap, it's within the margin of error for reaction time.

Too bad tenths of a second aren't official in NCAA football. The official game clock showed 0:00 with the ball not yet touched. Game over. WMU 12-7 final. And your method shows a different time than all of the other methods that "prove" time remained. If y'all can't even get your lies in sync, maybe we should just go with the official game clock?

That’s nice but that’s not how sports work. There is a clock in the stadium. When it hits zero, the game is over. That’s it.

Sorry this is the only method needed. Football doesnt have 10ths of seconds

Go watch the opening play of every college football game. The number only ticks down to 14:59 AFTER a full second is played. There are no tenths. Once the clock reaches 0, there are no possible tenths of seconds remaining.

That doesn't refute anything in the above clip

@DrewGundy Even if tenths of second were left then that is what Michigan should have gotten instead they got a whole second. Making the game last longer than the official game time. There is no way out of this, even the official account shows they cheated.

BBALLBREAKDOWN 的头像
BBALLBREAKDOWN15 天前

@DrewGundy As long as there's any time on the clock, they'll be allowed one final snap

MadDutchMan 的头像
MadDutchMan15 天前

@DrewGundy Can you snap in 0.1 seconds? Or is the time left irrelevant and you can throw or hold the ball as long as you want until the play is over? Nonetheless the game clock was at 0:00 before the ball even caught. This is zero and not a few tenths left.

Game clock wasn't exactly synced to game play. There can be lag when using a feed of the scoreboard and then overlaying it on the screen. And if it's a digital recreation, there can also be lag. Just time it on your own, you'll see it wasn't a full 9 seconds between snap and ball being touched

That’s 0:00. No other game has ever considered it anything other than 0:00. When refs see 0:00 before a ball is snapped, they whistle as soon as they see 0:00. Never any consideration for 0.124 seconds left.

BBALLBREAKDOWN 的头像
BBALLBREAKDOWN15 天前

It's really about the sync here. It's proven that nine full seconds did NOT elapse from the moment of the snap til the moment it was touched

You are issuing the entire point. If the clock that everyone uses during the game is wrong- then It’s problematic. If you or anyone else has to revert to secret clocks, homemade timing inlays on non-official videos to prove something it’s problematic. The game clock is used for every other play all game. If there is a problem they fix it right them and there, not after. Yet they “fixed it” after. So yep it’s a problem.

Clearly, a second left if you extrapolate the countdown from the left video feed.

These Zapruder film analysis posts are pointless. Stadium clock was 0:00 with the ball in the air. End of story.

Very convenient Big Ten has clocks not in sync in last seconds when ref requested the official clock be set to 9 seconds. @NCAA Rule 3, Section 2, Article 4, Paragraph a game clock shall not display 10th’s of seconds. Suspicious.

Now do it with the NBC broadcast+clock footage overlaid

If they break it down like this on the last play, then it should happen every play of the game. There are many instances where the clock keeps running when it shouldn't or stops early when it should keep running. Either keep time correctly all game or not nitpick at the game end.

The clock operator started the clock before the snap by a half a second.

We all saw the clock hit 0 before anyone touched the ball. This video proves nothing to anyone that watched the game in real time.

BBALLBREAKDOWN 的头像
BBALLBREAKDOWN15 天前

The video does prove that there was still time left when the ball was touched by the defender considering there were 9 seconds on the clock when the ball was snapped. Isn't the most important thing to get the call right?

Chris Raper 的头像

We can analyze the footage ad nauseum, but there will always be ambiguity. Operating the game clock is not an exact science like an Olympic track meet. It is not meant to be accurate to 0.1 seconds. The call on the field should have stood.

According to @bigten they should have no more than 0.2 secondsd back, gactually it’s less. Good luck snapping the ball in that time. Anythingj more would be cheating giving Michigan more time than allowed. That is if you believe in their imaginary clock.

You need to sync the video on the left when the clock clicks from 5 to 4 with the NBC video with the same clock.
