I remember watching a n 80s movie about these kinds of tournaments when I was a little kid. It was a Karate Kid ripoff where some dork with an asthma problem befriends a magical Chinese old man who teaches him how to use nunchucks, but the entire time the kid is also idolizing a magazine about Chuck Norris. Half the movie is the kid having daydream action hero fantasies about being Chuck Norris’ sidekick. The movie culminates in like a nunchuck show off thing and a brick breaking scene. The kid throws away his inhaler at the end because he’s learned how not to have asthma and he tosses his Chuck Norris magazine aside to get picked up by a kid in a wheelchair who flips through it and gets amazed at pictures of Chuck Norris I guess? The implication being a sequel where the wheelchair kid turns into the monster in this video.
