It is unhealthy in so many ways, and one of those is that "grandma" is actually owed and controlled by crony corporations, so "grandma" will be subtly influencing you to trust the experts, to buy stuff, to support the next war, and to support Israel.

your choice of word is quite accurate. but if something (like video necromancy) can be unholy that means something or Someone IS holy. I noticed that it made you uncomfortable that Joe Rogan kept bringing up God in your recent podcast. I can’t wait to see if you choose to really challenge your science dogma and get curious about Jesus someday.

Chesterton said over a century ago that the great heresies of today are no longer about God but about man. Dehumanization is the denial or obscuring of man’s rational soul and imago Dei, thereby treating him as a mere beast or instrument rather than as a being made for truth, virtue and Eternal Beatitude. It is making man a means rather than the end that we are. Why is dehumanization the most strident force today? In the age of accelerationist AI, man is increasingly measured by utility, data, and productivity: metrics that flatten the soul into “code” and strip personhood of dignity. Or abolish personhood altogether. The machines may not hate us, but worse, they may make us forget what we are: not programmable animals or horny bags of electrified meat, but incarnate intellects with a dignity and destiny beyond this world. The great heresy now is not disbelief in God, but disbelief in man as God made him…an ontological amnesia wrapped in plastic. We are immortal souls ensouled in flesh, fashioned in the image of Logos, meant not for optimization but for sanctification. Strip man of his divine origin and telos and all that’s left is a clever carcass awaiting commodification. See Sam Altman and his husband’s new offshore project to create genetically modified designer babies. Pre-order yours today. We are in unprecedented, grave, existential, moral and metaphysical deep shit. In killing God we’ve sentenced ourselves to slavery and consequential annihilation. The only hope is to rapidly reverse this dark sequence.

Let's assume for a second that I have no idea what you're talking about. Do you have any reference links or better descriptions?

You dismiss divinity and all spirituality, so I don’t understand your complaint. If everyone was All-In on “evolution” as the ultimate explainer then they would have nothing to fear, right ? Right?

Glad you see it. And completely agreed. Regardless of the religious aspect this isn't healthy. Need to enjoy the time we have with our loved ones on this earth. Not play pretend with pixels.

Bret, have you seen the prescient Max Headroom ep "Deities"? The notion of digital resurrection was foreseen in 1987. As for being "religious," don't rule out coming to faith, you're a very discerning person, as was C.S. Lewis, inter alia.

Your podcast is a joke. I know it’s gotta be hard to satisfy HEATHER, and it must break your heart when she orgasms. It sounds like a man.

That’s how you know this is slop because generative AI is not being used to design rocket engines or solve cancer (yet), so the only way to generate revenue is in the creative/digital media space, not in the real world, not solving physics problems to further humanity.

There is something deeply disturbing about having a dead person(s), relative(s), pet(s) image on your phone that you can verbally interact with. Collecting numerous deceased entities on your device. Its like the lonely guy with cardboard cut outs around his apartment for parties.

The interesting part of this is the choice to describe everything that’s happening as “unholy” for that is indeed what it is. The uncanny valley revulsion factor is increasing and we’d do well to marinate on that.

at 30:08-30:20 @BretWeinstein You and @HeatherEHeying sound dangerously close to: if the necromancy LIVED up to our standards, then it would cease to be unholy. Talking publicly about this is appreciated, keep up the good work!

So much anti-humanity. Why should children suffer the anguish we all experienced, growing up & learning how to navigate human relationships? They can have a COMPANION best friend who is on call 24/7, has NO needs, and makes them center of the universe at all times!

You know things are in a bad way up when two highly respected people who infer they do not believe in the spiritual nature of life admit that something is so amiss they use spiritual language to describe what is wrong.
