Ran loved motorcycles. On the morning of the attack, he was on sick leave after a motorcycle accident in which he dislocated his shoulder. When his phone filled with messages calling his team to action, he put on his uniform and told his mother, “Look, my hand is fine.” He chased terrorists, helped dozens of Nova survivors reach safety, was shot in the hand and leg during battle, and instead of seeking shelter, went on to confront dozens of Hamas terrorists. Thanks to Ran’s heroism, all the residents of Kibbutz Alumim were saved, and he earned the nickname “Defender of Alumim.” Near the family home in Meitar lies Ran’s favorite hill, where he used to ride his off-road motorcycle. His parents, Talik and Itzik, have placed a sign there, naming it “Ran’s Hill.”

The public has the right to know. The media's duty is to report. One of the horrible cases that is silenced in this long war is the case of the death of Dr. Adnan al-Bursh. Al Bursh is one of the best and most respected surgeons in Gaza. From the beginning of the war, he worked in several hospitals in an attempt to save as many civilians as possible who were injured by IDF shelling. He was arrested along with other medical teams and taken to detention in Sde Teyman, and then to the Ofer prison, where he was severely tortured until he died. Until the day of his death, no charges were filed against him, and he was not brought before a judge. His body is still being held in Israel, and no explanation has been given for his death. This is another shocking example of Israel's brutal repression policy.

He financed the group himself, which was later affiliated with the Tawhid Brigade, purchasing weapons and ammunition with his modest wealth. He took part in the capture of his hometown, Al-Bab, in July–August 2012. He then moved to #Aleppo, the main battleground of that year. With his 40-man battalion - made up of relatives - he fought Regime troops in several areas, including the Old City and Brigade 80. After the fronts solidified, he shifted to the Western part: the districts of Saif Al-Dawla and Salah Al-Din, where he fought brutal urban battles. Despite his age, he led his men in combat and took part in the capture of a string of buildings in Saif Al-Dawla, where he personally negotiated the surrender of several soldiers. On March 25, 2013, while covering his men during an attack, he was killed by a Regime sniper in Saif Al-Dawla district. He also explains that Assad would never be able to extinguish the Revolution's volcano - even with the support of all countries.
