Last Monday, the Russians released the footage of a Ukrainian attack against two civilians who were trying to flee the Ukrainian-controlled area of Kupyansk towards Russian territory. They had a white armband and a white flag, indicating their civilian status. When the video of the executions was made public by the Russians – who accused Ukraine of war crimes – the Ukrainians inserted their logo into the video and disseminated it as if it were, rather, a Russian attack against civilians.
