Meaningful action on climate change isn’t optional. Climate change is already a reality, and it's already impacting how we live our daily lives. I fought hard to make sure that the government’s 43% reduction target by 2030 was a floor, not a ceiling on our emissions reductions. Any backsliding on our target to reduce emissions is a betrayal of our children and future generations of Australians who will live with the consequences of the decisions we take today. I will fight every day to make sure we protect their future by taking real action to reduce emissions now.
