Please note: this lady above isnt complaining. She gives the RUI hotel huge props. I am showing how she was thankful for all the meals the hotel provided. She explains the context for box delivered meals. The guest were on lockdown. The day prior they got regular buffet.

The proper response would be to ask staff how they are doing? Is their family ok? Thank them for continuing to provide outstanding service under such distressing circumstances. Accept whatever the hotel offers you and be thankful your roof didn’t collapse you have food/water.

This is disgusting behaviour. The guests knew the storm was coming. They should either have Left or been prepared. Those poor staff in there still serving them instead of being hone with their families only to meet that diagusting behaviour.

Y’all gone hate me but yea they should get some money back unless it’s specifically stated in the hotels policy under refunds. All inclusive depending on the resort isn’t cheap. So I understand the why but it’s also not what they purchased so just give them a discount.

That is what travel insurance is for. Use it.

It does. It would cover every day that they are there at the hotel and is customary. If you also use it while booking a flight, you can cancel/rebook due to "acts of God".

Of course. They aren’t at a shelter. They paid for a hotel. So if the hotel can take their money they should be able to accommodate them better IF circumstances didn’t get in the way.

They were accomodated. Food delivered to rooms, packaged take away snacks. Escorted to safe zones etc. What else do you want with high winds and rain outside?

As you said, it’s a crisis. That is why travel insurance exists and it’s clear these ladies did not do their due diligence and purchase it before traveling to the Caribbean during hurricane season. Thats simply a risk they took on. Ideally this would be sorted with a claims adjuster, not with staff who have to work whilst preparing for their livelihoods to be uprooted/damaged. Surely you understand that.

Crazy. I've been to the RIU. Staff are great. They are dealing with incredible circumstances. Staying working to take care of guests. They weren't even able to go safeguard their homes. My goodness. The lack of understanding and patience. Good grief. Get them out. Never come back
