This game you may remember had a commentary bug where Jonathan Agnew would erroneously call 'STRAIGHT UP IN THE AIR! And safe. AND OUT!'

Tapping the button so your mate thinks you're about to deliver an absolute rocket, only for him to swing way too early and watch horrified as an absolute pie arcs through the air and takes his middle stump, because you were tapping a different button... Mind games galore

From a more civilised age when the slower ball was 30km/h slower 😅

Controllers all around Australia getting absolutely launched across living rooms

They can’t take it if you never gave it up. Did you recover from 4/33?

This was me blobbing around for footage I previously cleared it by 4 wickets with only a couple of run outs and de Silva nicking off for 99 💀

The classic yes/no when you realise the fielder glitched to get the ball then throws down the stumps from side on. Enjoyed the test season mode with generate innings to chase down huge 4th innings targets as Zimbabwe or just batting deep with the Cricketboks.

I recall as a child turning down the difficulty and throwing away 9 wickets to try and make a double century with McGrath

Right there with you, even got the star of the show himself past the elusive 3 figures.

Why I sought out the PC version is they fixed the keepers wandering off 😅

Great memories! There was a moment in this match where the keeper Healy would casually walk away from position so that batter would face the bower without a keeper for a couple of balls 😅 Great game. 👏🏻

That was a bug that was fixed in the PC version, AI teams don't concede 30 byes an innings 😅

🤣🤣

Those selection sound effects still rattle around in my brain today

Missed this one - we only had Super International Cricket on SNES. Would love to give it a go tho!

This is Brian Lara Cricket, no? Had it on PS1. Great memories

Yep just sold with Warnie on the cover here

Had it on my PS1. Geoff Boycott's special comments.

The memories

Absolutely incredible game for it's time. Still the best cricket game as a whole, to date.

Looks better than the games you see today!

We want beach ball mode.

Man this game was 11/10

Nostalgia hit @basszaia

Lost so many hours to Brian Lara Cricket!

Isn’t this Brian Lara Cricket?

BLC and SWC are identical games save for one or two different items of menu and cover art

No way lololol. What a game!!! Batting in Candy as Sri Lanka was awsome. I never used to bowl however 😅

The greatest cricket game ever. Turn slog mode on and hit them out of the park!

There's runs here.... trouble here.... and out

Did anyone ever get a decent total or manage to play out a test match on that?

Loved when the opposition fielder would occasionally teleport to the ball quicker than you thought and run you out

I still don't get it, why was it called brian lara cricket

“There’s a mix up with the batsmen”

Is it better than Brian Lara Cricket?

Why does all the actions look so natural wtf ?! Cricket 26 doesnt look nearly as neat as this.

It's in the air... and TAKEN! But put DOWN!

Best cricket game ever

Dude. This looks fucking AMAZING. It Shane Warne '99 the best version of the game?... I might have to hunt it down as well!

Holy shit

EA Cricket 96 that came with a box of weetbix was also a great gem

Spent many a time at my friend's house in Dromana playing this game.

One thing I learned in setting this up is the PC version has I think 6 different files to determine AI batting tactics for various lengths of limited-overs match vs. 1 on the PSX

Shane Warne Cricket '99 is much better than this.

This was the first cricket game I played. I never realised there cheat codes for it.

lol played this recently graphics were no where near this!

How did you make it work on windows 11?
