Sphere equation: x² + y² + z² = R² By implicit differentiation, you get: 2x dx + 2y dy+ 2x dz = 0 Which is essentially the equation of a plane. Hence, if you are a REALLY small creature walking over a GIANT sphere, you'll feel like you're walking on a plane surface.

You gotta love it when mainstream science contradicts itself.

Earth's huge and we're like ants on a football field, hard to see the curve from down here.

There’s a harbour near me with a lighthouse out at the horizon. If I try hard, I can imagine the curvature of the ocean in all directions. It’s fun to try and sense the speed we are all moving at as little dots on the biggest amusement park ride ever. Weeeeeee🤣

Equally some find it difficult to understand why the earth's biosphere does not extend out to 'the wide blue yonder'. On a 1 metre diameter circle, representing the earth, 1mm = 12,750 metres, so Everest is at 0.7mm, & the highest human habitation is at 0.4 mm above sea level!

Absolutely! The vastness of our planet can sometimes deceive us with its seemingly flat horizon, making Earth's curvature challenging to perceive from the ground. Fascinating stuff!
