This is why learning to think in probabilities will change your trading forever.

An important thing most beginner/amateur traders miss about probability : The probability of your trade working out is directly tied to the reward/risk (RR) ratio you aimed for. Aiming for higher RR ratios will MATHEMATICALLY reduce your win rate, and therefore the probability of having a winning trade. So if you're very uncomfortable losing often, adjust your RR ratios accordingly. Win rate and RR are extremely tied to each other. Together, they make what is called "the expectancy" of a trading strategy.

The surprising part: probabilistic thinking isn’t confidence that the next trade will work. It’s no longer needing that trade to work to feel competent. When a loss stops being a verdict on you, following the plan gets much easier.

Mark Douglas doesn't miss. Shifting your mindset is genuinely the core work for a trader. The technical side just doesn't hold without it.

I’ve read most major trading psychology books. It’s the same material: probabilities, discipline, fear, greed, accepting losses. Yet most authors have no verifiable trading record. They’re professional speakers teaching a profession they’ve never proven they can actually do.
