This is why needs either more width or less penalizing rough. Rose hits a high cut that lands on the right half of the fairway and bounds to left rough. It’s a crapshoot on hitting fairways, reducing skill. Furthermore, the ball goes into rough without real recovery options.

If you aim up the right side and draw it or vice versa, then you make the fairway as big as possible. If you aim up the middle, you then you cut the fairway in half. This means a shot that draws too much ends up in the rough on the left and a ball that fades too much ends up in the right rough. This is an oldie but ever so applicable with summer coming to a close in the northern hemisphere. That rough around the greens is healthy and happy. Try this if you are less than 2 feet into the rough. It’s a great escape shot to have in your arsenal! Ball behind trail foot / Putter delofted to project the ball INTO the turf / You’ll typically hit this shot softer than you might anticipate / Ball will pop up and over the rough before landing in the fringe and trickling up to the hole. Give it a go!

If order to hit a big league fastball your brain needs to decide to pull the trigger roughly 25 feet from the ball reaching the plate…. In order to do that, your eyes must be oriented at a spot 25 feet to your left for a righty or 25 feet to your right if you are a lefty…. This begs the question what is the point of hitting off of a tee?…The body will never work the same vs a live ball…. Look how different Mike Trout looks when hitting off of a tee vs hitting a live ball…Watch his left arm and left shoulder do completely different things. The right forearm supinates vs an overhand pitch but it pronates vs the tee…. It’s a function of where the biceps inserts onto the radius. There isn’t a hitter on earth that will use the same swing mechanics off of a tee as they will vs an overhand pitch.

Using Medball Throws to Prepare the Athlete for Hitting & Throwing Medball drills are great for power development. They’re also an outstanding way to prepare the athlete for violent rotations via hitting and throwing. For us, medball volume is high at this time of the year as most guys are taking a break from intensive hitting and throwing. By keeping our medball volume high we’re able to train power, without the increased stress of swinging a bat or throwing a ball (much more CNS stress). This also makes it easier for guys once they pick up a ball or bat and start their skill work.

Keeping the ball low means the ball won’t have enough air time to go OOB which is on both sides of the 1st hole It’s a amazing that the best golfers on the planet still revert to a second serve when they NEED to get that thing in play Cool shot here 🐝
