@ImageComics Unfortunately, the preorder system where I get comics (Midtown Comics) isn't great. I can pre-order a comic, but then have to pay shipping and, based on other pre-orders, lump them together so I receive them once a month rather than weekly.

@ImageComics Multi-part thread Q&A: 1) hlHuge fan of Radiant Black. Startedat it's debut and have not put it down since. As a former (or failed) writer, the story strongly resonated with me. 2) My LCS carries fewer copies as it seems readers are turning to trades. With fewer FOC requests...

@RadiantBlackPod @ImageComics Sadly there aren’t any comic book stores near me so I can’t go in and grab a physical copy😭 yeah I can order online it’s just they way they arrive to my doorstep it’s always like badly damaged to the point where I’ve given up on preordering comics several times

@RadiantBlackPod @ImageComics There are some good stores out there who handle shipping really well. The link I put in the comments is one of them.

@BlackMarketNAR @ImageComics Ty for sharing been trying better once I see solicitations to ask my comics shop to add to my pull. Need to catch up on my #radiantblack reading, 1 of my fav moments from #sdcc last yr was coming into your panel to grab seats for the next 1, but became new fan of this universe.

@marcusto @ImageComics FYI until Image fixes it, Canadian Image FOC is Sunday. Last minute call out for pre-ordering is often too late for stores to place orders.

@marcusto @ImageComics For people who live abroad (I live in Spain) is even crazier, the FOC is one month earlier that there. This week I have to make the order for july. I am not able to ask for that number anymore, only the tpb #8

@ImageComics A lot of us never preordered after we’ve been burned by Jeff Lemire’s Jason Todd Series and the Red Hood solo that was so bad :( how can we preorder your new series with Jason?

@ImageComics byzantine, or a very efficient market? YOU DECIDE! :P

@SeanIzaakse @ImageComics I will never preorder a comic. The fact alone that I don’t get to pick my copy and check it for defects before purchasing is the biggest reason. Then you have this artificial FOMO happening in the industry. Having the customers act as inventory managers for shops also ridiculous.

@SeanIzaakse @ImageComics Hey, I agree. But unfortunately, most stores don't order a book-- especially past a first story arc or two-- unless they have subscribers.

@SeanIzaakse @ImageComics Which I think hurts the creators, publishers and shops more than the customer. If I can’t walk into a shop and buy your book on release day, I’m still gonna buy a book, it just won’t be yours.

@SeanIzaakse @ImageComics Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but I understand your position. Trust me, if I could get stores to order more copies beyond what their subscribers pull, I would. I'm constantly trying.

@BenParkerReilly @ImageComics Also most shops literally won’t stock anything that’s not DC or Marvel on their shelves. They know they can sell a Batman but don’t know about the new Indy superhero comic that would come out. So either way no sale and everyone loses.

@KyleDHiggins @ImageComics It does seem like a lose all situation. I also wonder what this whole preorder system will do to future resales and back issue stocks at shops.

@ImageComics Any possibility of getting the early Radiant Black TPBs back in print? I've been trying to order them for the shop i work in and they're consistently never available from Diamond UK.

It’s been a few years since I read Radiant Black. Back then, I was a big fan of Nathan, and when he got hurt and Marshall took over, it felt right for Marshall to step into the role. But at the same time, I still felt bad for Nathan. I never got to the point where I found out whether Nathan got his powers back or became a new hero within the Radiant Black universe. So I might pick the series back up.
