They cost loads due to the work put into them. I used to be in the same boat thinking they were pricey but when you see everything going on with them you'd know why they cost what they do. I've helped quite a few guys out with free upgrades or a quick turn around for a specific LAN etc. I think people would rather have good customer service over anything. I cover shipping on any issues that happen within warranty as well as the repair and shipping back. I don't think many would offer up that chunk of their profit. I think a lot of people are under the misconception that these types of controllers are just throw together and call it a day. What they don't see is the months of design work, trial and error, software learning, troubleshooting etc. Scuf I would consider more assembly line but BattleBeaver has a ton of R&D and varying options just like myself. Being the cheapest isn't always the best option, you'll never find good workers who will stick around for minimum pay and they won't have the care that needs put in to controller builds to give them the perfect feel. Sure, you can offer a controller under $150 but it will be just like the ones that I get sent in for repairs where it's rough wiring, missing soldering pads, flux all over, hot glue towers with no mounts, cheap switches, cheap sticks, bad calibration etc. I've even seen wood chunks placed in glue for support lmao. I would hate to see BattleBeavers monthly bills. If you're paying employees, building lease, insurance, inventory, website fees, app fees, utilities, etc etc, it adds up quick compared to a virtual product with low overhead. You wouldn't be able to afford to stay afloat making $30 profit per controller when each build can be 1-3 hours of work depending on the build. There's a reason most Pros and creators who are even sponsored by Scuf aren't running one. They want specifically tailored controllers so they can be the best they can be. Short answer, there's a lot more to controller builds than most think, there's also levels to it. 95% of people building them are all using the same things so nothing to set them apart.

Most people should just do it themselves and get some tac switches and a remapper and solder their own buttons lmao. Been doing it for years on every controller learn to solder out your joysticks as well and u will never need to buy a new controller

Scufs are absolute shit, battlebeavers are overpriced and just not worth it. The edge is by far the best controller I’ve had to date.
