This is true unfortunately in my experience too Also seems to take a lot longer to get your coffee at the independent places Starbucks I already have the app on my phone and can order ahead It’s nice to support small businesses but sometimes they make it difficult for you to support them too ..and in la the mom and pop coffee places are usually more woke than Starbucks is these days
