So… as it turned out… Tesla didn’t change it, it’s just the prototypes didn’t have the actual plastic infused material, so they were simply wrapped. But this is how the final finish would look like in production cars.

This was an early model I believe not refined and wrapped I think the newer glossy ones are not wraps. To my knowledge the final version is injection color molded at creation no wrap involved and no paint

There is no paint or wrap on the production Cybercab. Just colored plastic. This wasn’t a change. It was announced during the unveiling. All those proof of concept cars were just wrapped to give the rough appearance.
