FSD V14.1.7 | Near Accident This is without a doubt the closest I have come to getting into an accident in a long time. I think had I not taken over and slammed on the brakes we would not have slowed down in time. You can see that FSD does an incredible job reacting to the car (even before I noticed it) and was slowing down, but it was not slowing down enough to stop in time. As soon as I saw the car swerving to the right I worried she was going to bounce back into my lane so that is when I decided to go full on the brakes to stop the car. You can see prior to me taking over we were full regen braking (which is FSD reacting well) but it wasn't using any real brakes at all, and ABS was not active until I took over. Let me know what you all think in the comments. I still think FSD is incredible - the reality is if you watch the video the car saw and reacted to the situation before I did, it just didn't brake as agressively as it needed to in this situation. FSD + an attentive driver is without a doubt in my mind still safer than a normal human driver who is not using FSD.

🚨Tesla FSD v14.3.3 saved me from an accident yesterday. A car blocked my visibility of traffic coming from my right; FSD saw it as an appropriate time to proceed. A car from the right was approaching, I never saw it, but the car did, and used the middle lane to merge safely:

Two reasons I disengage from Tesla FSD (HW4): 1.) I want FSD to take a diff route than suggested. Potential easy solution in the video: Just let me "draw" the route I wanna take. 2.) The full-stop at stop signs. I tap the accelerator when using FSD to do a rolling stop which is way more natural. The NHTSA made Tesla do the full-stop thing in 2022 and it's just annoying, especially when driving through a neighborhood with tons of stop signs. People are so hung-up on FSD Unsupervised that they're ignorning the fact that we have self-driving cars today. Tesla FSD is not perfect - but it is incredibly good, and when you put it up against every other ADAS here in North America it is undeniably how far ahead Tesla is at the moment. I think it's fair to talk about the issues that exist today with FSD - but I also think there are some people who cannot take the time to appreciate what FSD is actually capable of... When I got my car two years ago I had no idea that the technology existed for a car to be able to stop itself at a stop sign - that is how unaware the general public is of FSD.

I was leaving a parking lot and witnessed this. 🤔 The car in front of me stops at the line, and FSD of course stops behind them. But when the person in front me goes, FSD doesn't come to a full stop again. Is this a rolling stop or the system didn't know to stop again?

I hesitate posting this for a bunch of reasons, but I think it's good to just be transparent about everything. I love to highlight all of the incredible things that FSD does, but I also think it's good to talk about any issues that it has currently. In my opinion the E2E on the highway needs some major changes. This clip was from my drive yesterday, and it is without a doubt the most dangerous situation that FSD has put me in. Yes, I am aware that it is FSD Supervised - everything that happens in the car is ultimately my responsbility. I just was wanting to see what the car would do, and I was hoping that it would make a better decision to be honest. Let me know what you think.

Starlink is beaming high-speed internet down to me from space. I’m listening to SpaceX’s first-ever Q2 earnings call with it. Tesla FSD is driving me autonomously to my destination. And I just uploaded this on 𝕏 via Starlink. Sometimes I have to stop and appreciate how crazy that sentence would have sounded just a few years ago. It honestly feels like I’m living in 2069.

💬 What changed the most after your debut? 🐹 My mindset changed to be a bit better. 🐹 Before I was thinking, “Wouldn’t I just do this for about 7 years and then stop?” 🐹 But as I kept doing it, it gradually became fun and I became more sincere. 🐹 I’m also very grateful to the fans. And because of that, I thought maybe it would be okay for me to be more sincere. 🐹 I didn’t know I would do this for this long. As I kept doing it, it became fun, so I thought maybe it would be okay to do it seriously, and that feeling actually grew bigger for me over time. 🐹 I just changed to be more positive.

FSD is SUPERHUMAN! It reacted faster than I possibly could to stop for a child who flew out of nowhere from around a blind corner riding a BMX bike. This👇was all FSD (S) I didn’t have to touch a thing. The Model Y came close to almost a complete stop before I would have had a chance to react. There is just no way a human can compete with these lightning fast reflexes. Just one of many safety advantages of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system.

My #1 reason for disengaging FSD is I want to go a slightly different route but there’s no good way to do it. -Dropping a pin adds it as a stop. -Grok will sort of do it but add a stop. FSD disengagements are always navigational at this point. Ashok Elluswamy Elon Musk Tesla

Why anybody would expect somebody else to pay for them is beyond me. Even if it was a close friend, I would think about it. If it did not happen often and I didn’t think they were trying to finesse me then I would more than likely do it. It sounds like in this case, the friend does this often and doesn’t pay her back. I have a name for someone like this and it’s a moocher. We will all have a friend like this in our lives and I think there will come a time where we have to decide whether or not this is something we are willing to tolerate. I would never do this to anybody else. If I had dinner plans but not enough money, the solution would be very simple, I would apologize and then cancel. I would y tell them why because that doesn’t matter. What matters is that I don’t have enough and I am not going to put my problems on anybody else. Friend’s like that have a short timespan to actually be a friend. I feel that people who do this are taking advantage and they know exactly what they are doing.
