Here in Côte d’Ivoire, a Nigerian built one of the biggest 3 Star Hotel on top canal. During construction, he was warned to stop the work, but he won’t listen, because the then PM, Ahmed Bakayoko was his paddy. But luck ran of them, when it rained heavily and it flooded which led to lose of many lives. It was traced that the hotel was blocking free flow of erosion. The President ADO personally supervise the demolition of the Hotel. The worst was even when the hotel owner was informed that his hotel was going to be demolished, he cared less until the D-Day. On the demolition day, he was busy making calls, instead of removing his item’s, and final the President arrived the scene. No Government will demolish a property without court order or prior notice to the owner. But most times property owners will Ignore. We want a working society but we are not ready to be law abiding.
