I am continually blown away by how simply he packed so much history into a simple song, it really is unrecognized genius.

I watched an interview with Billy Joel where he said he wrote this song because he had heard young people at the time complaining about how hard life was and how easy the earlier generations had it. He wrote this to prove no generation has had it “easy”.

Bone chilling goosebumps. I’ve always enjoyed the song, but these graphics add a level of reality that’s just amazing.

Incredible! How chilling that Roy Cohn made it into the song & now we’re dealing with his “ pupil” Trunt, in current times. Thanks for sharing!💜

This is so great. I had the lyrics to the song and sat down with my parents once and asked them to explain the things to me that were from before my time. A very educational experience.

This song was originally released in 1989... Feels like it's time for @billyjoel to add a new verse covering the last 30+ years. Be sure to include Dr. Fauci, Barak Obama, Facebook, and 🎶 Trump was a fascist crook 🎶.

Wow! Felt this deep on my bones and cried. Such a brilliant song and the visuals are perfect. And for every fire, there are those of us who will never give up putting them out no matter how hard or long it takes - even for generations. Pass it on. Thank you for posting it.

It’s always been right in front of us. The problem is people have short memories and we’re losing the greatest generation that reminded us of the dangers.
