@chambleebrandel Designing a golf course to play fast & firm without the option to play the ground game is a head scratcher. But that’s what Pete Dye does. Playing @TPCSawgrass is like going into a fist-fight with one hand tied behind your back.

This is sad. Here is an abandoned golf course. Nature has taken over. I used to play out of this club. The land was sold so a warehouse could be developed. It's been empty for several years now. Crazy to see it like this.

It seems like the grass is really full. It’s always in good condition here but it seems like there’s just a little bit more grass. It’s just a little bit fuller and there’s no rain in the forecast so they can really do whatever they want. It’ll be firm and fast, I would assume.” He went on to talk about strategy in the firm conditions: “Just be smart and just play good golf. It’s a place where if you’re playing good you can be super aggressive and if you’re not playing great you’ve got to play really smart and kind of get to the positions where you can get it up and down. It’s the same for everyone though and everyone’s gonna do the same thing.” Cam Smith is still struggling over the last few years to reach the great form he showed in 2022 when he won The Players and The Open at St Andrews. His form this year reads T13, T8, 48, T8 and T17 in his 5 starts on the LIV Golf League.
