It's an online geocache hunting game. It is much better in rural areas. My wife and I have been doing it for over 20 years, 99% of our finds are in the forest on trails or just in the middle of the woods. Great way to get outdoors and get some exercise. Go to to join or for more info.

Sometime in the mid-2000s an old lady in my town hid a geocache in the flowerbed of her mailbox. She would come out and chat with the people who found it and give us cookies and lemonade. Sweet lady.

Years and years ago there was a geocache right outside my corner house. I would sit and watch people go up and mess with the stop sign, light pole, the utility boxes. I didn't want to go up and ask. I didn't know what geocaching was at the time. Fortunately a little bit later I learned about it and put 2 and 2 together.

There was someone across the street rummaging through an old brick mailbox to a house that burnt down 30 years ago. I’m the only house for miles so it was suspicious. When I looked at what they were doing it was a geocache and it had been there for many years.

I've found a dozen of these without looking. Old job was servicing underground utility vaults for AT&T. Just doing my job i would find altoid boxes with magnets glued to them and inside was a lil pencil and paper.
