Ppl love to attack first and think later on this app. This conversation resonated with her, and made her realize the disorder she is very open about is affecting her child. This might be the motivation she didn’t realize she needed and posting it helps others in the same way.

And she asked if it was okay that she posted it too god is this what a healthy home looks like? She’s raising them so well he’s so well spoken

This is why it is necessary to recover from eating disorders/self harming behaviors before having kids. They will notice you hurting yourself.

Bless that child omg what a sweetheart 😭🥺

these comments are NOT it. she clearly is suffering with a disordered relationship with food/body image - not something she can easily control. the fact her son has noticed is sad cos kids shouldn’t have to see that but like she said, it was mind blowing & maybe a turning point !

she’s obviously doing something right to be raising such a compassionate and intelligent kiddo, and that’s all I’m going to say 🥺

Ppl saying she needs to recover and blah blah before you have kids are stupid. Mental illness never goes away. Y’all are implying mentally ill ppl should not have kids if you display any kind of symptoms. This woman has obviously raised a wonderful caring despite her illness.

i don’t like kids being posted online but this is so sweet

Glad she checked herself and started listening instead of responding. Because at first she was doing the “no you’re not thick you’re perfect!” Which just teaches kids that something is wrong with you if you’re fat/chubby

Y’all don’t realize how much kids notice and observe things

It’s cool that he was able to express his concerns with her so clearly

The tears started flowing right at the is point

why did she immediately stop him when he said “i’m a little thicker” and reinforce that that’s a “bad” thing by saying “no you’re not you’re perfect”

The amount of hate she's gettinguhm?? This is such an educational video for people with EDs who have kids. People saying you should recover before having kids is also kind of weird?? It doesn't just go away like that, it's called a mental disorder for a reason 💔

🙁 kids really can be super observant like that. you’d think he was much older the way he articulated himself too.

Anyone hating on the mom is stupid. If ur kid notices this kinda thing AND feels comfortable communicating it & their concerns w/ u, it implies a healthy relationship & intelligent kid. She responded perfectly, treating his words as valid & important. It’s a great interaction.

I’m happy she took it positively instead of negatively. Every parent is there first time being a parent, and moments like these are really teaching. And he’s a wonderful son for noticing and caring for his mothers health 🙌🏽 I hope she took the advice and gets better

MY SHAYLAAAAAAA

He said what he said momma ... sometimes we need that check like sat down and eat

saying "oh no don't say that" when he said he's a little thicker acting as a bad thing

Parents please remember your children notice everything. Sometimes they just don’t know how to articulate everything they’re feeling.

Her kid is kind and genuine, them noticing is normal, any child will notice if their mother isn't eating while the whole family does I hope she heals and find peace with food, her page says she did struggle with ED, glad to see her having a family & doing her best, her fam loves her

this is so fucking sad oh my god

Oh absolutely not. I dont wanna be that kinda mom who wont sit with the family at dinner 😭😭

What a beautiful child. Many of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s will remember our mums not eating or serving themselves a small side plate. Kids observe much more than we think.

Kid is more understanding and less judgmental than most adults.

Did you get the message!? Even he sees what you are doing to yourself and it's gotten to the point where he got up the courage to actually bring it up to you. I hope you take care of yourself. So do your kids, clearly.

children notice everything, that’s why you don’t have kids if you’re still doing bad habits like ED or anything that’s self harming

POOR BABY NOOOO, KIDS ARE SO SMART 😭😭

aww omg this is so sad - kids are really observant i don’t think ppl realize a lot of the time

Please stop responding to “I’m thick” “im fat” with “you’re not thick, you’re perfect”/“you’re not fat you’re beautiful”. They said they were thick/fat/whatever, they didn’t say they weren’t perfect/beautiful.

Poor kid feeling responsible for his parent’s health. Been there done that. Didn’t have a good childhood because of that. Hope she seeks professional help because this is in my eyes, a form of child abuse.

just a bunch of angry and lonely ppl in these replies.....

Well being fat is hated so it’s no wonder she feels so much pressure. It’s very sad.

omfg ☹️ love to all of them i pray this is the start of a better life for her what a sweet kid
