This morning, BJP West Bengal’s official Facebook page was briefly withheld. Why? Because it reminded people of a truth that some would rather bury. On September 20, 2018, in Darivit High School, Islampur, two young students, Rajesh Sarkar and Tapas Barman, were shot dead in police firing. Their “crime”?... Protesting against the appointment of Urdu teachers and demanding Bengali teachers instead. This is not a narrative. This is recorded history. The Trinamool Congress seems petrified of its own past, a past where two Bengali Hindu students lost their lives at the hands of the Bengal Police for raising their voice. When that reality resurfaced on social media, the instinct wasn’t to answer, it was to suppress. Getting our page reported and briefly suspended only raises a larger question: Why such fear of the truth? Why such desperation to prevent people from remembering what happened in Islampur? Despite clear Court orders permitting a peaceful protest, how did BJP West Bengal-backed goons launch such brutal assaults on our workers? NO ONE WAS SPARED. Our women workers were assaulted and molested in broad daylight as those entrusted with safeguarding the public stood by as mute spectators. Such a flagrant abdication of duty raises profound questions about the state of law enforcement and the sanctity of the rule of law itself. Why is BJP so afraid of Trinamool Congress workers? Why were people exercising their democratic rights made to fight for their lives in a hospital instead? Today, #Bengal witnessed the BJP’s true face. Beyond politics of vendetta, intimidation and violence, they seem to have little to offer. I attended a Protest Rally at Basudevpur; Howrah, organized by the BJP West Bengal Howrah Rural Organizational District to protest against the constant attack on Durga Puja Pandals, right from Sitalkuchi, Garden Reach, Bauria, Shyampur and many other places across the State of West Bengal. The apathy of the Police & Administration towards such incidents fuels the miscreants' desire to further attempt such heinous acts. This is West Bengal, the only Homeland of the Bengali Hindus. Its our vow to fight this attack on our culture and religion.

Today, I took my children to "The Garden of Khiam's Martyrs", a space founded by our hometown's municipality to honor the men of Khiam who fell to Zionist terrorism. Men who gave their lives so their people could live with dignity, heads held high, on their own land. There, I spoke to my children about who these brave men were, and why their sacrifice matters. Among them is their own grandfather, a Lebanese Army soldier martyred in 1977 at the hands of Zionist Israel. His name lives on in our memory, our values, and our sense of belonging. They learned about the historic Battle of Khiam in 2024, when the people and defenders of this town ensured that Zionist Israel would not occupy it. They learned that dignity is not granted, it is defended. This visit was not only about remembrance. It was about identity. About grounding my children in their history so they grow up knowing what it means to be a southerner of Lebanon: rooted in the land, loyal to the people, and ready, when history demands it, to give everything in defense of home and loved ones. I was overwhelmed by the strength, discipline and unity of lakhs of Trinamool Congress workers who travelled from every corner of Bengal to make this solemn event a resounding success. Each year, this gathering becomes more powerful, not just in numbers, but in spirit. We are now in BATTLE MODE for 2026. Unlike BJP, which survives on the might of money, agencies, and propaganda, Trinamool Congress is powered by the WILL OF THE PEOPLE. The BANGLA-BIRODHI ZAMINDARS, in their arrogance, have repeatedly insulted our language, our culture, our icons and our identity. From desecrating the bust of Vidyasagar to weaponising the Assam Foreigners Tribunal to target Bengali-speaking citizens in our state, their every move exposes their contempt for Bengal. If they insult the language we say ‘Maa’ in, we will speak it louder. If they try to erase our identity, we will etch it deeper. This fight for 2026 is a MORAL and CONSTITUTIONAL one. The diktat from the Bangla Birodhi Zamindars that MPs cannot say ‘Jai Hind’ or even ‘Vande Mataram’ in Parliament is an attack on the very soul of our democracy. ‘Vande Mataram’ is our national song. ‘Jai Hind’ is the slogan of every Indian. These are not empty words; they were the cries of those who fought and sacrificed for our freedom. To try and erase them is to try and erase our history. Is this what they mean by governance, silencing the voice of a state that has always stood for democracy, secularism, and the unity in diversity of our country? Bengal is not outside India. It is not a footnote to be ignored. It is an integral, proud part of this nation. And let it be clear: we will not let anyone erase our identity, our history, or our rightful voice in Parliament. Vande Mataram. Joy Hind. Joy Bangla.
