President William Ruto: No Kenyan should pay for outpatient services at dispensaries, health centres, and sub-county health facilities in any SHA-accredited public, private, or faith-based hospitals. Last night, I supervised the collection of garbage from illegal dumping sites along road reserves across Nairobi County. I urge all Nairobi County residents to refrain from handing over their waste to street families or unregistered garbage collectors, as these often end up being dumped illegally along the road reserves. Let us take responsibility for our waste by ensuring it is either brought to designated transfer points within our sub-counties and respective wards or entrusted to a licensed private service provider, registered with the Nairobi County government. Together, we can keep our city clean and protect our shared environment.

We are immensely grateful to the Safaricom Foundation for their timely and generous support, which has enabled Nyan'gu Health Centre in West Ugenya Ward to receive a modern, fully equipped maternity wing and laboratory. This will go a long way in enhancing safe and accessible delivery services for our mothers and newborns.

Since 2023, Murang’a County has successfully used * a free system co-developed with the Ministry of Health, across all public health facilities. It has improved service delivery and data management. With the rollout of SHA, the Ministry is pushing migrating all facilities to the new system. Its not a free software. To safeguard patient data and continuity of care, Murang’a County has entered *mediation with the Ministry of Health*. We are proposing *system interoperability* as the best case scenario, so that can sync with SHA and no patient data is lost.

We are currently in Rakai District attending an extraordinary District Council meeting as part of the “Expose the Corrupt” campaign in local government. I thank the leaders of Rakai District for attending today’s meeting and for their commitment to improving governance and service delivery. Later today, we shall inspect roads and address several community mini barazas across the district to engage directly with wananchi and assess the delivery of public services. Our focus remains clear: improving service delivery, strengthening accountability, and eliminating corruption within our local government system.
