@USDOT How about a pay raise? It’s been years!!! Most of us work 6 days a week to hold the system together. It would be nice to be compensated.

We are pulling EVERY STRING to hire more controllers AND we are BUILDING a NEW air traffic control system for modern aviation with the $12.5 BILLION Congress delivered to U.S. Department of Transportation in the One Big Beautiful Bill ✈️🚧

The days of DEI are done at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, we are only hiring the best and the brightest, and we want to pay them accordingly. Since announcing the new streamlined hiring process and a 30% raise for air traffic controllers, The FAA ✈️ has seen a significant increase in Air Traffic Skills Assessment (ATSA) registrations. The ATSA tests the skills necessary to become an FAA controller.

Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), the ranking member on the Senate's aviation subcommittee, is demanding the Transportation Department expand its $10,000 bonus to all air traffic controllers and FAA technicians who worked without pay during the government shutdown. The department said it would give the bonuses only to those who did not miss a day of work during the 44-day shutdown. Duckworth told CBS News it was "an insult" to the controllers and said that "at a time when we should be doing everything we can to retain and recruit air traffic controllers, the Trump Administration choosing to punish and alienate 96% of the FAA's controller and technician workforce is completely counterproductive." CBS News' Kris Van Cleave has more.
