I have no idea how they ever managed to finish this movie. 😂 Young Frankenstein was released in 1974, directed by Mel Brooks, produced by Michael Gruskoff, and written by Brooks and Gene Wilder. Wilder starred as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein alongside Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman, Teri Garr, Cloris Leachman and Madeline Kahn. Brooks shot the movie in black and white as a tribute to the classic Universal Frankenstein films, and they even used some of the original laboratory equipment created for the 1931 Frankenstein. The finished movie is hilarious enough, but the bloopers show just how much fun this cast was having behind the scenes. With that much comedic talent packed onto one set, keeping a straight face had to be nearly impossible. Young Frankenstein turned 50 in 2024 and is still considered one of Mel Brooks’ greatest comedies. After seeing the bloopers, I’m starting to think getting a usable take was a real challenge. How many takes do you think it took to finish this film? 😂
