There seems to be a trend of steepening the plane and attack angle on chip shots. Whilst that is a style that can work off wet and fluffy lies, it’s much harder of tighter turf. As soon as it’s so steep you bring in redirection of the club which affects turf interaction. I align with the philosophy of Brett Rumford and Parker McLachlin on these shots with the style being less steep and a stable ulnar/radius angles. The club then skids and with a slight body raise at impact the player can pick it off most conditions. 👍🙏👌🏼⛳️ (vid Skratch) (No disrespect to players featured, they are incredible champions and those lies are tough)

Thought you might find his interesting…..we see many great players “falling left” as they approach the top with an iron. The body stays turned and shifts left then puts the brakes on by rotating and extending at impact. This helps pressure in the ground and get shaft lean at impact. All good things. Slightly different with driver as you wanna keep the upper body back more to hit up on it.

Ok, DJ is an outlier. Strong face and flexed wrist combo is a rare move as is the ability to match it up. Why internet coaches spout this style to the masses is beyond me. One in 500,000 can make it work. It’s often mis-interpreted too. Example, yes the wrist is flexed and club artificially shallows initially in transition but it soon steepens, as does the arm plane. Reducing in an enormous “left” swing direction producing a power fade. If you are athletic enough to match it up, go for it. Most “react” and hit is aweful with this style. Flexed wrist and more neutral clubface is marginally easier to make work, but still has compensations. Careful what content you consume in the self-appointed coaching wildwest. (Vid s h ø t.tracer)

The biggest difference in last year and this year is you have the other guys playing with confidence and not afraid to have the ball in their hands. Golfers: Wedge bounce and being able to flight it low. When the ground is soft the ball will tend to roll up the face getting higher and flying shorter than you think it will. Colorado is usually pretty dry and firm. We have had some storms lately and the ground is soft. I hit a lower bounce 60 degree which if I am not careful will dig causing the ball to roll up the face and come up short. Here are 3 things you can do to prevent this: -Use more club so for me my 56 and swing softer. -Ball back, steeper, more shaft lean. (Trap draw) -Use a higher bounce wedge for the current conditions. If this is happening to you it might not be your technique it is probably just your wedge setup. Understanding it can help you to work around it.

If you are someone who suffers from wide takeaway that tends to get the club working too far inside, this one’s for you! There’s nothing wrong with have a wide takeaway, in fact, I love seeing a golfer with a nice wide takeaway, however we need to understand that there needs to be SOME loading of the golf club to avoid it getting too far inside. If you only TURN the body and don’t load the club UP, you run the risk of that club getting too far behind you early on. If this is something that is affecting your swing, try feel like you load the club a little earlier during the takeaway 👊🏼

But that's why you should train it If you can do this & strike the ball solid, you should be hitting the ball pretty good with both hands on the club Try it out & post your attempt in the comments 👊

One of the best “classic” swing styles you’ll ever see. Geometry, sync and efficiency are pretty perfect. Many of my ideals in it. None of this contrived, complicated match-up stuff that many are throwing into the game. Club works up simply (not too much arm depth), lead wrist slightly flexed, trail side and arm plane shallow in transition, body opens and sidebends at impact. All in a second with very little thought. Stunning and a joy to watch and study. So much great footage coming to my Youtube on this.

Coached this kid for many years and he now lives back in Korea. Love his swing, such great fluidity and tempo. It’s a great example also of the arms never getting stuck and how the club “releases” and is almost thrown in a different way to an iron. The shaft raises and club exits higher, the club freewheels more 👌🏼

A Big problem with many young kickers on kickoffs. A wide angle takes away from linear power and directional control. The tendency coming from the soccer field to kicking a football is to swing across your body. I see too many kickers really wide in their approach and yet they still kick the ball back to the left with the right foot. Notice how NFL kickers when they’re kicking the ball to the right are still not even as wide as some young kids are that are just blindly kicking the ball down the field, and more than likely expecting to pull it to the left. Then when they land on their follow through, they continue to trip over themselves for several steps because their swing is counterproductive to their bodies momentum

First look at the new Overload play style. This was against the Legend AI Inter Milan team that was using Out Wide in a 3-1-4-2 setup. It definitely feels like a more upgraded version of Possession Game and you do get a lot of options showing for the ball making it way easier to deal with opponents who like to Pressure spam. Out Wide will definitely be a HARD COUNTER to Overload so be careful if you are using Overload and you run into someone like Xabi Alonso who has Quick Counter and Out Wide because if you lose the ball you will be at a big disadvantage when the inevitable cross field switch comes. We will have to see how it settles after a few weeks but it is best to play in a formation with LMFs or RMFs so you can switch the play against Overload if you do win the ball back so you don’t get instantly suffocated and lose the ball.

You can go with or against the slope! 1: With the slope (great for longer clubs as they’re generally shallower into contact) - Ball position, normal or even slightly further forward - ⁠ spine angle, approximately perpendicular to the slope - ⁠ The ball will go really high so club up 2: Against the slope (I like this better for shorter irons as the swing is steeper and we’re looking for solid contact just like Karol) - ball position further back - ⁠ Lean on front leg - ⁠ The through swing will probably be more of a punch style because of the slope Which one would you do?
