I'm sorry, but the climate restrictions that currently hold down most of the first world hugely negatively impact both our climate and ironically our emissions, the real answer has sat in front of us for 50 years; nuclear power, and as someone deeply familiar with the models and the extrapolated future possibilities, I have come to the conclusion that the things we have done have had a negative impact, and another harsh reality is the tipping point isn't 500 or 600ppm it more like 1200 and it will take centuries to happen Leven assuming some sort of linear model (which non of them even suggest). We should be building as much power as possible with the most effort into nuclear, and nat gas second, then we need to focus on solar deregulation which is the real reason it hasn't taken off (just ask Bill maher). 75% of houses most commercial site and parking areas have huge benefits, but we have so heavily taxed and obstructed that construction path (literally can't do it in pheonix arizona) people just give up. Real action is getting goverment out if these obstructive policies and full speed ahead so we can be both prosperous and improving the climate by many orders of magnitude.
