He's is only rewarded with being looked at as a good person when he becomes the utility for her bad choices, sacrificing his morality and self on the altar of her ego and self identity. "Try to just look at it through my eyes..." Lines like this that she delivers are again subtly placed and the man never asks for the same in return. She does indeed stay a victim but only from her own choices. And what's she's asking is for others to do is remove consequence and accountability for her choices, getting them to shoulder the burdens rather than own up to it and carry the cost herself. Through pretty words and emotional platitudes, this type of movie convinces the audience and younger impressionable women that this...is the way to be.
