Interesting! I was throwing a pen in the dog days of summer 2012. I was spraying balls everywhere, getting frustrated and trying to tweak my delivery on every pitch. My pitching coach said the delivery isn’t the problem.. stop trying to get your fastball glove side. Just do it.

If someone argues that mechanics have little to do with throwing strikes, then they know little about throwing strikes!

I can get behind this. Go look at any 24hr fitness and you’ll find atleast one guy with the ugliest jump shot you’ve ever seen but can drain 3’s in his sleep.

Feels like the biggest factor in command is timing. Personally feel that mechanics are relevant insofar as their impact on timing. Nirvana is an intersection of timing and athleticism - only coaching mechanics when necessary.

What about this alternative…. Having “good” mechanics gives a majority of guys confidence to know they can and should be in the zone more, feeding into the psychological aspect mentioned in the video. (Cont)
