niggas had no right slandering ep #167’s animation back in the day and even still to this day. when it had the likes of shingo yamashita, norio matsumoto, kenichi kutsuna, and atsushi wakabayashi

fun fact: #167 only had 4 key animators on it. the first 7 minutes had 5500 frames (100 cuts) and all were drawn by Yamashita which took him 2 months. Kutsuna did about 70 cuts, and Norio did 120 cuts on his own in the last 8 minutes.

- Wakabayashi took care of the talking scenes in between. all together the episode took 6 months to produce when normally it takes about 3 months to produce a normal TV episode.

yesterdays JJK episode has a similar art style and animation to the naruto vs pain fight with all the loose movement and destruction going on. both episodes also had production issues going on as well so keep that in mind.

The animation itself is good however it didn’t hold the artistic integrity of Kishimoto’s vision. It went too far left. The presentation of the characters fell a part with what they were trying to convey in the movements. Great ideas but bad execution.
