RULE #18 OF THE PRIMAL DIET Drink raw milkshakes. The raw milkshake is a recipe and one of the most important items on the Primal Diet. It reinforces the body, in particular the mucous linings, which are essential to protect bodily tissues from toxin damage. It strengthens parts of the body that other foods cannot, most of the time, as it is the best combination of foods to help the body restore mucus. Mucus protects the mucous membranes in the intestines, kidney, etc. Contrary to certain beliefs, mucus is not toxic. It is part of the body and remains internally. When mucus is expelled, is during detoxification, as a vessel that contains the toxins, but it is not a toxin itself, it protects from them. Toxins can deplete the mucus lining in the body, exposing tissues and organs to damage. This manifests in heartburn, being constantly drained, and other ways. So it is important to reconstitute the mucus layers that buffer those toxins, with milkshakes.
