This technology has me curious. It's called Wind Sail Propulsion. It's still in the 1.0 stages IMO. It's kind of interesting though and could potential save on fuel costs to get things across the ocean. It harnesses wind energy to assist or, in some cases, serve as the primary... means of propelling ships. Another technology is the Flettner rotor, which uses the Magnus effect—created by spinning vertical cylinders in a wind stream—to generate forward thrust. Unlike sails, the rotor is powered by its own motor, allowing it to generate propulsion even when wind direction is unfavorable. Do you see potential for this kind of technology? CNN: He claimed that China builds a lot of wind turbines and manufactures them for others, but refuses to use it itself, barely uses wind power. In fact, China is the world leader in the use of wind power. It is building additional wind power in China far faster than the pace at which the U.S. Is building in the United States itself. So the idea that China is just, you know, foisting this terrible source of energy on other countries while refusing to use it is a reversal of reality.

ZLH🚀: yes, this is the motor of the wind turbine, located at the highest point of the turbine shaft. these are the blades. they look small now, but in reality, when I went to the wind turbine manufacturing plant, it was about 80 meters long. really huge. and the proportions might not be accurate. when we stood below it, it was incredibly impressive. it works like this: the wind comes from this direction and drives the blades to rotate. then the motor converts that kinetic energy into electrical energy. there are cables below that can directly transmit the electricity to a substation, where it's stepped up or down in voltage, and then sent to places on land where the electricity is used. that's how a wind turbine works. 👤: it's a very meaningful souvenir. Australia needs to take advantage of AI before it takes advantage of us. This is quite the show. The progress in AI technology as demonstrated by these robots is both impressive and scary. Impressive as to how far AI technology has come, and scary in the sense of the potential job losses AI will bring. Australia really needs to get up to speed when it comes to manufacturing and technology skills. The sooner we up skill our workforce to ensure we are not beholden to foreign controlled AI the better.

Australia needs to take advantage of AI before it takes advantage of us. This is quite the show. The progress in AI technology as demonstrated by these robots is both impressive and scary. Ed Miliband is writing cheques for wind farm developers before the grid can move their energy to where it's needed. This is a political choice and it is making electricity expensive.

McIntrye Wind Farm recently connected some of its turbines to the grid, those works are on hold as it investigates the incident.” “The 458MW Coopers Gap wind farm in south west Queensland, the newest and biggest wind project built to date in Australia – is to undergo major repairs after faults were found in its commissioning process. AGL, which operates the $850 million project and is a joint owner through the Powering Australia Renewables Fund, said in a statement that the blades of one of the 123 turbines will have to be replaced entirely, while GE Catcon is also going to replace “generators” – referring to the equipment in the nacelle at the top of the wind tower – in a further 50 turbines.” •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Not only are wind farms unreliable in terms of wind dependent generation. They break easily as we saw last week on the Darling Downs. If the blades on a wind farm can’t survive a summer storm on the Darling Downs they will be useless. This is just another example of wind farms being unreliable. A few years ago wind farm had to replace 50 out of 123 turbines just after it was commissioned. Australia cannot not afford to be pursuing Net Zero policies being pushed by the two major parties. We should focus on using our coal, uranium and gas resources instead of imported materials.
