💔 FOUND LYING ON THE SIDE OF A ROAD💔💔💔💔 This tiny girl was found lying on the road after being hit by a car and rushed to UCD Veterinary Hospital. She was fighting for her life when she arrived. X-rays have revealed a broken pelvis, and tragically one of her legs is completely shattered and will need to be amputated. Despite everything she’s been through, she is the sweetest little soul and has already stolen hearts at the hospital. We’ve taken her under MLHR so she can get the care she desperately needs. Esme has a long road ahead of her, with major surgery and recovery to come, and unfortunately a very large veterinary bill. If you can help in any way, please consider donating or sharing this post. $In 2013, 15 year old Leonie Harm was out for her morning run and hit by a car leaving her with brain injuries, bone fractures, and a collapsed lung. She was put into an induced coma and given a 1% chance of survival by paramedics at the scene. But she made a full recovery and went on to be one of the best amateurs in the world. Today, she just made birdie on her last two holes to shoot a final round 69 and win her maiden title on the LET at the Amundi German Masters in front of her home fans. What an incredible story. 2025 ended on a very sad note for the Followills. We lost one of greyhounds, Joanie, in August. Our oldest grey, Jewel, was diagnosed with bone cancer two months ago and our time with her ended this week. She was a proud, stoic girl who was showing signs of a lot of pain. We agonized over the decision but it’s so difficult to see your best friend suffering. With the help of Lap of Love she crossed the bridge at home in a peaceful and comfortable setting with her mom, dad and little greyhound brother with her. She did live to almost 13 which is good for an ex-racer. She joined the Followill fam in January 2017 and was the perfect dog…happy and playful, very healthy until the end, and a great big sister to the other two! She loved her stuffies, walks, car rides and her humans! We had almost 9 amazing years with her that I tried to capture in this video with memories from her first day with us to her last. The connection between humans and dogs is so special. It’s heartbreaking to say goodbye but Jewel brought a lot of joy to our home (and Joanie as well). Those two were meant to be together in life and the memories of them will always be cherished!

This young woman was off on a run, she’s taking the route she normally does for a long time now. On the way see runs with her little brother and even sees her sister out running as well. As the sun sets she’s on her final stretch of her run and she’s approaching where she started out again. She sees two men on the sidewalk and right as she is about to run past them they try to grab her and take her, one of the men lunge at her as to almost tackle her and stop her in her tracks. Even after running for miles she musters up the strength in her to run away as fast as she can. It’s safe to say this is why people use treadmills but if this was you would this discourage you from running outside again, what would you do?

This is us just now, she’s constantly back and forth weeing blobs of blood. She’s booked in with the vet later and the emergency vet gave her an injection at 2am this morning. I think she may need an ultrasound. There may be something sinister going on sadly. It’s a lot.

My heart bleeds thinking of Waffle’s agony. She gave birth on the side of a busy road, and one by one, her puppies died under passing vehicles. Each car felt like her babies' killer. Only a few kind souls fed her, and while she trusted them, others wanted her dead. We brought her to our shelter, trying to compensate for her loss with love and care.
