I met with Crown Prince Haakon of Norway. The Crown Prince began his first visit to Ukraine by visiting a rehabilitation center in Irpin. I am grateful for this meaningful gesture of attention and support for our people. During the meeting, we discussed strengthening energy resilience. We appreciate the $450 million contribution of Norway to Ukraine's energy security. We also touched on deepening cultural ties between our nations and investment in the defense sector. There is strong potential in all these areas. I thank Norway and the Norwegian people for their continued support of Ukraine and their help in protecting lives.

The Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the Ramstein group, held a productive meeting today. These are the countries supporting Ukraine’s defense and protection from Russian terror. Ukraine's Defense Minister Umerov attended, and I am looking forward to his detailed briefing. There will undoubtedly be new military aid packages, including deficit artillery. New countries are joining the Czech initiative on artillery ammunition for Ukraine, and I am grateful to each of them. Our priorities in air defense, electronic warfare, and drones remain unchanged. I thank all countries that are making meaningful contributions to them. Ukrainian drones are already demonstrating powerful results, and we must significantly increase the international component of our cooperation. Our drone strengthening must be felt at the frontline. I am grateful to all Ramstein participants and the United States, particularly Defense Secretary Austin, for their leadership. I am grateful for supporting Ukraine and organizing today’s meetings – the online meeting of leaders and the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. Thank you for showing genuine unity and leadership at this time. I thank Sweden for all its support for Ukraine – for our people and for our defense. Sweden is absolutely committed to protecting life, and we value this immensely. Today, we have a new support package for Ukraine, and the most important element of it is the Swedish Gripen fighter jets, which will strengthen our air force. Overall, this year, next year, and our future cooperation are all about building Ukraine’s fleet of Swedish Gripens. This will help us guarantee the security of Ukraine and Ukrainians. Today, the Ulf Kristersson and I also discussed the details of our cooperation across all other areas. I briefed him on the situation in Ukraine – on the battlefield and in our defense against Russian strikes. We need our own European antiballistic capabilities in sufficient quantity and with sufficient strength. We will work on this, including within the NB8 format – one of our most effective formats, bringing together Ukraine, the Nordic countries, and the Baltic states. I am also grateful to Sweden for all the sanctions steps – everything that limits Russia’s capacity for aggression.

All the pain Ukraine endures is a direct result of Russia’s criminal actions and sick desires, its unprovoked and unjust aggression. Therefore, it is incredibly valuable that so many people and countries have united to help us preserve our freedom and, consequently, uphold the common human understanding that evil must always lose. I am grateful to America! I am grateful to everyone who is helping us rebuild, supporting our people, and truly caring about protecting lives.

I met today with Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže. I presented her with the Order of Merit, II class, for her significant personal contribution to strengthening our cooperation and supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. I am grateful for all the assistance to our people, for the visit, and especially for her trip to Chernihiv. It is extremely important for us when partners personally visit such places and support the reconstruction of our schools and kindergartens. We discussed defense support. We value Latvia’s contribution to the PURL initiative. We also spoke about the possibilities of using the SAFE mechanism and the prospects for joint weapons production. Latvia is a leader in the Drone Coalition. This year, it has supplied Ukraine with about 12,000 drones, and this is vital support for our defense. We also focused on the diplomatic situation. Our positions are aligned – the sanctions pressure on Russia must be increased, and the relevant work with partners must continue. Latvia stands with us and will continue to do so. I am grateful for the unwavering support for Ukraine.

I would like to thank the countries that announced new assistance for Ukraine this week. I am grateful to Germany, Finland, and Lithuania for their new military aid packages. Estonia will expand security investment in ammunition production over the next years, which is important. Norway and the United Kingdom have made decisions to provide new humanitarian aid packages to Ukraine and Ukrainians. I am grateful to them. We are preparing new security initiatives in the next weeks, particularly to strengthen our air defense.

Dozens of partner countries will participate, including those who can help boost our capabilities not only to defend against missiles but also against guided bombs and Russian aviation. We will discuss this with them and continue to persuade them. Lives need protection here and now in Ukraine, and air defense systems must be operational for this purpose. I am grateful to the entire Jewish community for supporting Ukraine in its struggle for freedom. I am especially grateful for the involvement of international partners, in particular from the United States, in helping our country. Now it is very important to bolster air defense to protect our people.

Air defense and a sufficient supply of interceptor missiles are essential conditions for bringing peace closer. I am grateful to all our partners who support us in this and who have a clear understanding of what exactly is needed. Patriots, IRIS-T, all necessary air defense systems, the development of drones, and investments in weapons production here in Ukraine—this is about protecting lives, and defending the very idea that peace is possible. This week, we have received new support packages: a significant $1.2 billion package from Sweden—thank you. A new security package from Finland. Another package from Croatia. Thank you! We continue working to ensure that next week also brings the necessary decisions for Ukraine—decisions to support our country, our people, and our Ukrainian army.

I thank France for its readiness to support Ukraine with additional air defense systems and missiles as early as this year. I also thank France for its readiness to provide licenses for ASTER and SCALP – this will be of great help.
