I met with Crown Prince Haakon of Norway. The Crown Prince began his first visit to Ukraine by visiting a rehabilitation center in Irpin. I am grateful for this meaningful gesture of attention and support for our people. During the meeting, we discussed strengthening energy resilience. We appreciate the $450 million contribution of Norway to Ukraine's energy security. We also touched on deepening cultural ties between our nations and investment in the defense sector. There is strong potential in all these areas. I thank Norway and the Norwegian people for their continued support of Ukraine and their help in protecting lives.

I am grateful for supporting Ukraine and organizing today’s meetings – the online meeting of leaders and the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. The Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the Ramstein group, held a productive meeting today. These are the countries supporting Ukraine’s defense and protection from Russian terror. Ukraine's Defense Minister Umerov attended, and I am looking forward to his detailed briefing. There will undoubtedly be new military aid packages, including deficit artillery. New countries are joining the Czech initiative on artillery ammunition for Ukraine, and I am grateful to each of them. Our priorities in air defense, electronic warfare, and drones remain unchanged. Ukrainian drones are already demonstrating powerful results, and we must significantly increase the international component of our cooperation. Our drone strengthening must be felt at the frontline. Today, we have a new support package for Ukraine, and the most important element of it is the Swedish Gripen fighter jets, which will strengthen our air force. Overall, this year, next year, and our future cooperation are all about building Ukraine’s fleet of Swedish Gripens. This will help us guarantee the security of Ukraine and Ukrainians. Today, the Ulf Kristersson and I also discussed the details of our cooperation across all other areas. I briefed him on the situation in Ukraine – on the battlefield and in our defense against Russian strikes. We need our own European antiballistic capabilities in sufficient quantity and with sufficient strength. We will work on this, including within the NB8 format – one of our most effective formats, bringing together Ukraine, the Nordic countries, and the Baltic states. I am also grateful to Sweden for all the sanctions steps – everything that limits Russia’s capacity for aggression.

I presented her with the Order of Merit, II class, for her significant personal contribution to strengthening our cooperation and supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. I am grateful for all the assistance to our people, for the visit, and especially for her trip to Chernihiv. It is extremely important for us when partners personally visit such places and support the reconstruction of our schools and kindergartens. We discussed defense support. Latvia is a leader in the Drone Coalition. This year, it has supplied Ukraine with about 12,000 drones, and this is vital support for our defense. We also focused on the diplomatic situation. Our positions are aligned – the sanctions pressure on Russia must be increased, and the relevant work with partners must continue. Latvia stands with us and will continue to do so. Air defense and a sufficient supply of interceptor missiles are essential conditions for bringing peace closer. I am grateful to all our partners who support us in this and who have a clear understanding of what exactly is needed. Patriots, IRIS-T, all necessary air defense systems, the development of drones, and investments in weapons production here in Ukraine—this is about protecting lives, and defending the very idea that peace is possible. This week, we have received new support packages: a significant $1.2 billion package from Sweden—thank you. A new security package from Finland. Another package from Croatia. Thank you! We continue working to ensure that next week also brings the necessary decisions for Ukraine—decisions to support our country, our people, and our Ukrainian army.

Patriots, IRIS-T, all necessary air defense systems, the development of drones, and investments in weapons production here in Ukraine—this is about protecting lives, and defending the very idea that peace is possible. This week, we have received new support packages: a significant $1.2 billion package from Sweden—thank you. A new security package from Finland. Another package from Croatia. Thank you! We continue working to ensure that next week also brings the necessary decisions for Ukraine—decisions to support our country, our people, and our Ukrainian army.

I met with the heads of parliamentary delegations who came to Ukraine on the fourth anniversary of the liberation of Bucha and took part in the Bucha Summit. This summit is very important for us and for the world — to ensure that what is happening in Ukraine is not forgotten. The key topics of discussion were Ukraine’s integration into the European Union, defense cooperation, the restoration of justice, and the negotiation process aimed at achieving a dignified peace. Ukraine’s membership in the European Union is a fundamental security guarantee for all of Europe, and our expertise in protecting lives can become the basis for systematic work in defense production. Thank you for this visit and for the support of your countries, governments, leaders, and peoples. I am sincerely grateful that, from the very beginning of this war, we felt that we were not alone because of you.
