Looking back now, if Terry didn’t see that Johnathan was gay, she was definitely overdue for an eye exam.

Being gay was much harder back then, so it makes sense that he may have struggled to come to terms with it. Even the way Oprah and Terry are reacting feels more like judgment than support. It comes across as trying to expose him instead of giving him the space to share his truth.

Oh @Oprah . So educated, yet consistently homophobic. Like Tyra Banks, their minds ALWAYS in the gutter, for ratings. I pity this gentleman who had to suffer the double standards here. Who says he didn’t realize after his marriage to this specific woman. I wouldn’t blame him.
