This week in 1986, Genesis released ‘In Too Deep’ as a single from “Invisible Touch”. Whilst already written for the album, the lyrics were later reworked to fit the film "Mona Lisa" after Phil was approached by Ray Cooper for a song to use in the soundtrack.

'In Too Deep' was a commercial success and charted at No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Listen now.

One of Genesis’ weakest songs. There were other tunes (like Feeding the Fire) that should’ve been included on Invisible Touch instead of this one.

This song made me buy the album and then the rest of the Genesis back catalogue, so it can't be that bad.

Such an incredible song!

such a sad song

I love this song nearly as much as 'Against all odds'.

That's such a special song for me. Phil is by far me favourite singer, songwriter.

Look at my man, handsome, sexy! And Genesis such a wonderful band, bring such happiness to people, What a gift to be able to give other people, just saying Dr. Carrie🤓💕

Phil 🥰

A Master Class every time!🌟🌟🌟

So the lyrics are different in the film or they were changed before the album was recorded?

Genesis magic never fades

Phenomenal

Another wonderful song by Phil. His lyrics and voice are absolutely the best.

The time I fell out of love with the pop group.

What were the original lyrics?
