Tragically, one person was killed, and nine others were injured, including two children. My condolences to their families and loved ones. State Emergency Service units are continuing to put out the fire at an ordinary building supply hypermarket in Kryvyi Rih. Overall, last night, Russia launched 8 missiles and 136 drones of various types against Ukraine. Many of them were shot down, but unfortunately, not all. The Kherson, Donetsk, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Chernihiv regions, as well as Kyiv, came under attack. The capital was struck by ballistic missiles, and three people were injured. In total, this week, Russia has used nearly 1,700 drones, more than 1,630 guided aerial bombs, and 95 missiles of various types against Ukraine, with more than half of them being ballistic missiles. Every day, we are working with our partners to ensure our warriors have the means to counter these attacks. We must undercut Russia’s gamble on ballistic terror. The Russians are using various types of weapons to strike people, ordinary residential buildings, and our civilian infrastructure. Unfortunately, there are casualties from this terror almost every day. And the threat of these Russian attacks remains constant. Over the course of this past week alone, there were around 1,400 attack drones, almost 1,500 guided aerial bombs, and 19 missiles of various types, including ballistic ones. Strengthening air defense – primarily anti-ballistic protection – expanding cooperation within the Drone Deal format, and increasing pressure on the aggressor are key priorities. Sanctions on Russia and its partners over this war must be enforced where they will be felt most. We need strong and rapid steps that will force Russia to move toward ending this war. Everything that strengthens Ukraine helps bring peace closer. I thank everyone who is helping us.

Every day, we are working to ensure greater protection against Russian terror. Yesterday, we received a new IRIS-T launcher. We thank Germany for its constant contribution to protecting people; thousands upon thousands of lives have been saved thanks to such strong support. But we also need missiles for air defense systems so that we have sufficient capabilities to repel Russian attacks. This week, there were significant arrangements with Sweden – a new support package, including for strengthening our aviation with Gripen fighter jets. As for the PURL initiative, there are new contributions this year, and support for this initiative must continue. We are counting on both the United States and European partners. It is anti-ballistic defense that is one of the key priorities for Ukraine. Strong air defense can provide greater protection for our people and deprive Russia of its last remaining advantage. I thank all partners who are helping, who are ready to respond effectively to Moscow’s attempts to expand and escalate its war. The Russians injured six people in the city and the region. Kremenchuk and Kryvyi Rih were also hit with ballistic missiles. Wherever the Russians can reach with their ballistic missiles, they strike civilian infrastructure. In Kryvyi Rih, two people were killed and 14 others were injured. One person was killed in Sumy. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Since this morning, air raid alerts have continued in many regions – the Russians launched another wave of drones. This week alone, 13 regions came under attack. The enemy launched more than 1,550 attack drones, nearly 1,560 guided aerial bombs, and 62 missiles at our cities and communities, most of them ballistic missiles of various types. I am grateful to all the services – State Emergency Service units, police, and medics – who are the first to arrive at the sites of attacks, help people, and respond quickly to save lives and restore normalcy. It is very important that this dedication of our people be complemented by new steps from our partners to protect the skies. Every day, Russia attacks Ukraine with drones, missiles, and aerial bombs. This week alone, there have been hundreds of strikes on our cities and communities – nearly 50 missiles, around 660 attack drones, and more than 760 guided aerial bombs launched by the enemy against our people. Russia will not stop on its own. The world must force it to end this brutal and unprovoked aggression. Strengthening our defense is absolutely necessary. We need better protection – air defense systems, long-range weapons, and sanctions pressure. All of this helps save lives here in Ukraine. I thank everyone around the world who understands the importance of this, continues to believe in our country and supports us.

Every day, Russia attacks Ukraine with drones, missiles, and aerial bombs. This week alone, there have been hundreds of strikes on our cities and communities – nearly 50 missiles, around 660 attack drones, and more than 760 guided aerial bombs launched by the enemy against our people. Russia will not stop on its own. The world must force it to end this brutal and unprovoked aggression. Strengthening our defense is absolutely necessary. We need better protection – air defense systems, long-range weapons, and sanctions pressure. All of this helps save lives here in Ukraine. I thank everyone around the world who understands the importance of this, continues to believe in our country and supports us.

Over the past week, the Russian Federation has launched approximately 1,900 attack drones, nearly 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and around 60 missiles of various types against Ukraine. This highlights how timely the new partner contributions to the PURL initiative are, as well as the approval of the EU’s 20th sanctions package and the €90 billion European support package agreed in Cyprus. I thank all our partners who are helping. Our air defense system is already showing a very high success rate in intercepting drones – over 90%. And we need to keep working to ensure this rate continues to increase, not only against drones but also against ballistic threats. Every additional delivery of air defense missiles means saved lives and better protection for our cities and critical infrastructure.

Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the massive Russian attack are currently underway in the Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Mykolaiv regions. All necessary services are involved. The main target for the Russians was the energy infrastructure of the Kyiv region, but unfortunately, there were also direct hits on and damage to ordinary residential buildings, schools, and civilian businesses. As of now, four people have been reported killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Many people have been injured, and some are still seeking medical assistance. Over the course of the night, the Russians launched around 430 drones of various types and a significant number of missiles. There were 13 ballistic missiles alone, and the total number of missiles in this attack was 68. According to preliminary data, 58 of them were intercepted by our air defense system. And every such night of Russian strikes is a reminder to all our partners that air defenses and the missiles for them are effectively a daily necessity. Every agreement on missile supplies cannot wait – everything must be implemented as quickly as possible. Our agreements to increase the production of air defense missiles are a critical direction, and this direction requires one hundred percent attention. Russia will try to exploit the war in the Middle East to cause even greater destruction here in Europe, in Ukraine. This is why we must be fully aware of the real level of the threat and prepare accordingly, namely: in Europe, we need to develop the production of air defense missiles – especially those capable of countering ballistic threats – as well as all other systems necessary to truly protect lives, regardless of what may be happening in any other part of the world. In many regions, the situation remains difficult after Russian strikes on our critical infrastructure. Energy workers and repair crews are working around the clock to restore electricity, heat, and water supply for people. And this is truly a monumental effort that matters greatly for our citizens – restoring normal life after constant Russian terrorist strikes. I am grateful to everyone involved. Over the course of this week, Russia launched almost 1,100 attack drones against Ukraine, more than 890 guided aerial bombs, and over 50 missiles of various types – ballistic, cruise, and even the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile. And they struck targets that have no military purpose whatsoever – energy infrastructure, residential buildings. They deliberately waited for freezing weather to make things worse for our people. This is deliberate, cynical Russian terror specifically against civilians. I thank our mobile fire groups that defend Ukraine from these attacks day and night, and all our other warriors from air defense units and electronic warfare units. I thank everyone who works for Ukraine. Right now, our internal resilience and the work to strengthen our defense are especially important. We need stable support for Ukraine, our defense, and coordinated diplomacy for the sake of peace. I am grateful to all partners who are working with us in exactly this way.
