I'll be honest, I didn't see the posthumous redemption arc of MJ being so strong. But, FFS, it is well-deserved.

This song is not as ‘based’ as the comment section think it is… Lyric: 🎶“Some things in life they just don't wanna see (Ah), But if Martin Luther (King) was livin', He wouldn't let this be, no, no”🎶 The lyric insinuates that since MLK represented the race unity that “they just don’t wanna see”, he would be active in speaking out against “they” if he were alive today.. the reality is that MLK was beholden to the same “they” that the comment section seems to detest. His top handler, ghost writer, publicist and popularizer was Stanley D. Levison, who was a “they”. Lyric: 🎶“You know I really do hate to say, The government don't wanna see, But it Roosevelt was livin', he wouldn't let this be, no, no”🎶 Under Roosevelt’s reign, he opened up the floodgates to allow “they” into various aspects of government and the bureaucracy. He also allowed the kind of divisive propaganda which MJ is rebuking in the song to metastasize into the general public, sometimes even funded by tax dollars. But here is the twist to the whole thing—the problem is not “they”, it is you and me. Demogagy comes in all shapes, colors and political orientations, it’s up to you to discern it and not be overcome by it. It is clumsy, reckless and hypocritical to go on a tirade where you vilify an entire ethnicity for the sins of a relative few within said ethnicity, and think that you are not also being demagogic.
