Thomas Chabot had surgery and will be out 6–8 weeks after this cross-check from JT Miller… There was no penalty called on the play 😬

Sometimes it's not the force, it's just getting hit in the right spot. Wouldn't consider that a dirty play at all.

This cross check happens 50 times a game and always goes uncalled. Officials need to start calling these. A cross check is a cross check.

Guys make this play 20 times a game. That’s why there wasn’t a call. It wasn’t malicious and trust me. I’m a ranger fan who is on the verge of wanting to choke half the roster JT miller included lol. But this is just a hockey play and an unfortunate injury. Happens sometimes 🤷🏻‍♂️

@HabsGreaseGame That is not a penalty which is why there was no penalty called. Chabot was turning and his arm got pushed the wrong way causing in injury. It happens. Absolutely nothing wrong with that incident. Hockey is a contact sport. Injuries will occur.

The player that intentionally injured another player should be out as long as they are. If their career ends, so does their career.

Honestly doesn’t look that bad in real time. Shitty outcome but this crosscheck doesn’t always get called. Might become point of focus next season like slash after Crosby slash on Méthot.

I was a professional athlete in a sport where injuries were common. Not being fragile determined many fates. Unfortunate result on a play deserving of a crosschecking minor at most.

If that is a penalty, then there would be 100 of those in every game. This was just plain bad luck and I guarantee that Chabot would agree it wasn’t an infraction.

There shouldn’t be a penalty that’s just a hockey play and a fluke injury, but not surprised cause Chabot is made of glass.
