Nothing in the ocean comes close to these gorgeous beasts, not even a great white. If they wanted to eat you, safe to say you’d be a gone. Thankfully, they’re very friendly towards humans.

The most compelling reasons as to why Orcas in the wild do not attack humans: 1) We lack fat. 2) Calves predominantly eat marine mammals such as seals, sea lions, whales, porpoises, and penguins, as well as fish, squid, and seabirds. We're never introduced as food during development & therefore there's no acquired taste or learning to identify us as lunch. 3) Because of the above, we don't look like food & therefore when the occasional run-in happens, they're more curious than predatory. 4) They're secretly garnering our trust to eventually take over the world. My money's on 4.

Orcas are apex predators. We have to take them seriously. Orcas have no natural predators and are at the top of the marine food chain. They hunt in groups, targeting a wide range of prey including fish, seals, sea lions, dolphins, and even whales.
