“From the outside, the marks are barely visible. Inside, they cause massive internal damage, tunneling through the body and leading to fatal bleeding.”
Dr. Syed described treating a 9-year-old girl who was paralyzed after a shard severed her spinal cord.
She also removed a piece of shrapnel from under a man’s eyelid during her last mission.
These weapons, still being used, are causing unimaginable harm to civilians and children in Gaza. This issue was reported earlier this year in The Guardian but has since faded from the spotlight. 📎
