She said: “The dissemination of biased, partial information, alongside the prohibition of access by the international press and the deliberate killings of more than 200 journalists in Gaza since 2023, cannot fabricate an alternative reality… Israel must allow the entry of the international press and protect the life, integrity, and work of journalists and humanitarian personnel across the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The international community must demand the immediate, safe release of medical and healthcare personnel, including personnel from the Palestinian Red Crescent who have been abducted by the IDF and associated militias... And just like that, after scores of speeches throughout France and the U.S. on July 4 about the 250 years of alliance, the good will between Washington and Paris appeared to take a dramatic turn south. Security Council meeting on July 27 on Ukraine when France’s Ambassador Jerome Bonnafont spoke, referring to Washington’s “disingenuous grandstanding.” The ‘beef’ was about the vote on the previous Friday afternoon that extended the current U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights’ term – which France supported and the U.S. did not. 1,400+ trucks of humanitarian aid remain uncollected by international organizations and the United Nations on the Gazan side of the Kerem Shalom Crossing. We have extended the hours of the daily, tactical pauses along the Salah al-Din Road, for humanitarian purposes, in which international organizations and U.N. trucks can collect the aid. These steps are in addition to the increased effort to transfer Egyptian trucks from the Rafah Crossing through the Kerem Shalom Crossing into Gaza following security checks.
