Threadguy explains why if you've never used Hyperliquid it's easy to be bearish on it and compares it to the Solana mistake from last cycle "If you never used Solana in 2024 you could have easily convinced yourself to be bullish on some other performance chain. Avax, whatever, they... all did terrible. Solana mogged all of them. From the same lens, if you've never used Hyperliquid, it would be very easy to convince yourself that Coinbase or Robinhood is just gonna eat their lunch or that the product isn't that good or it's niche. It's very easy to make the same mistake if you've never used it as you could have made if you never used Solana in '24." "After using Hyperliquid every day for a year, I open up a brokerage account and try to trade on Robinhood and I'm like what the fuck is this? This is terrible. It's a product game. Like you can pretty much trade almost every day as long as you get set up. But swing trading is different because swing trading just doesn't work all the time, at least on the long side. You have to be inactive for long periods of time, sometimes for months. While if you're a day trader, you can be more active. Like there is not necessarily periods where you have to be more inactive to the same extent as in swing and position trading. You gotta have a lot of patience. That's also why it's better to have a larger account if you start swing trading because you don't have to worry about the money as much. Like, oh, I have bills to pay, I need to trade, I need to make money. So it's better to have a larger account because you don't give a sh*t. So what if I don't make money this month? It doesn't matter because maybe next month I'll make a million, right? So it doesn't really matter if I don't make money this month. It’s very psychological, too. Two summers ago, Kara Lawson was speaking to her Duke basketball team. She wanted them to shift their mindset. What followed was 2+ minutes of gold on how to be successful. Here’s Lawson on embracing hard things: “We all wait in life for things to get easier. Think in your own life. I just gotta get through this, and then it'll be easy … It's what we do. We wait for stuff to get easier. “It will never get easier. What happens is you handle hard better. “Most people think life is gonna get easier. Basketball is gonna get easier. School is gonna get easier. It never gets easier. What happens is you become someone that handles hard stuff better. “That's a mental shift that has to occur and each of your brains. If you go around waiting for stuff to get easier in life, it's never going to happen. And then what happens? Oh, it's so hard. Oh, I can't do it. When is it going to be easy for me? Oh, it's easy for other people. “It's not. It's hard. And the second we see you handling hard better, what are we gonna do? We're gonna make it harder. Because we're preparing you for when you leave here. Not just basketball – in life. “And if you think life when you leave college is going to all of a sudden get easy because you graduated and you got a degree, it's not going to get easier. It's going to get harder. “Make yourself a person that handles hard well, not someone that's waiting for the easy. Because if you have a meaningful pursuit in life, it will never be easy. If you're trying to win a championship, if you're trying to have a family … Ask your parents. Do you think it was ever easy for them? “If you want to be successful, it goes to the people that handle hard well. Those are the people that get the stuff they want … If it's hard, don't get discouraged. It's supposed to be. Don't wait for it to be [easy]. It won't. It’s about building a business, building a family, building a community, being a valuable citizen and every other meaningful thing in life. 2. “Hard” doesn’t mean “bad.” There can be joy in hard things. 3. There’s a Haitian proverb: “Behind mountains are more mountains.” There’s always another one to climb. 4. What you see on social media is a facade. People make their lives look glamorous online. Behind the screen is a human being struggling through their journey. 5. None of us are immune to difficulty (even if some try to appear that way). 6. “Easy” is convenient, “hard” is fulfilling. What satisfies you in the short-term robs you in the long run. 7. Have you ever heard someone tell a story about how easy a great achievement was? 8. “Easy choices hard life, hard choices easy life” misses the point. We shouldn’t seek an easy life to begin with. 9. Andrew Wilkinson: "The heuristic I have is if I ever think 'Should I fire this person?' even once, I should fire them immediately. The biggest mistake I made in my early career was that I would hire people because I liked them on gut, and I would think that I could change them. Like in romantic relationships. It never works out well. If you get married to someone and you go, okay well, this is gonna be a great relationship as long as I can convert them to Christianity, or I can change their parents, or their personality, or whatever it is. I've just found that I've never been able to change someone. You can never mentor someone into being a good employee."

It's easy to convince yourself that your happiness is contingent upon some external milestone: • Money • Promotion • Fancy stuff • Recognition But these "if, then" traps are a dangerous mirage: You climb to the top of that mountain, only to see the happiness you thought you'd find melt away and reappear in the distance. If you convince yourself that your satisfaction is contingent upon the next achievement or milestone, you'll never find it.
