Three rules that make LA uglier: 1 - LADOT says no trees near intersections 2 - City Attorney says no trees in traffic circles 3 - LADWP says power equipment must go in prime frontage real estate We aren't following laws, but rules we imposed on ourselves. Let's change them!

@LA_DOTr And the City is losing more urban trees every year because they're not keeping up with tree planting while urban trees are dying. There's a net tree loss each year in LA.

We are becoming one of the ugliest cities in America.

so infuriating. My theory is they make everything hyper customized and full of weird engineering specs to make grifting easier. There's always some bizarre need for "custom" everything. We have that in SF and it's all grift.

There are a few pretty neighborhoods in LA (Westdale, for example, has tree lined streets where the trees on either side of the street nearly touch at the top), but having lived in both LA & SD, part of why I prefer SD is it’s not as much of a vast basin of concrete.

There are great examples of trees in the center are in US !!

Traffic circles with stops signs are stupid.

Sorry but emergency vehicles have a hard enough time getting thru intersections - with so many rails at grade they’re held up for up for five minutes bc of trains and now bike lines are taking up more lanes - the last thing I’m worried about is whether there’s a tree.

I think you want to keep a traffic circle clear. You know, for safety when driving. They are there for cars not for you to stand in the middle. Can we also get rid of architectural articulation rules? Every new building looks ugly now.

I love this account, it the best comedy. It point is; Let me point out something that no cares about…..see….see…..IT’s NOT SAFE. No one cares. we struggle to survive, you need to understand your privilege

why no trees near intersections? seems like a lazy rule

Shrubs are a better idea for round about. Tree roots cause damage.

There are hedges in the median where I live. I can't see oncoming cars when turning left.

"Having less visibility at intersections is actually safer because it forces drivers to slow down and be more cautious." BS

@hood_ninja__Dyl

This is why Northern California is better in my opinion

Maybe start by voting differently? Crickets!

Dumbfukks think they can have trees that need regular maintenance when they let NGOs and illegals get all the taxpayers cash lol

what’s crazy is there’s literally a huge old tree in the middle of the southeast corner curb cut,, like to the point that it will fs have to be cut down to upgrade it

Me and my hisband think the number 1 is just stupid

Unfortunately, it’s all rigged so it’s really not up to the people

Once full ai driving is here the point of a lot of traffic rules ceases to exist It'll be easier to not out up all those signs, nearby parking, viz rules about banned areas and trees to preserve sightlines

People really do get bored when they working government

we need more trees in Los Angeles
