Air1 Assists TPS in Locating Suspects in Shooting Investigation The DRPS Air1 helicopter assisted Toronto Police Service in the arrest of two suspects in a shooting investigation. On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at around 4:00 p.m., officers from Central West Division responded to the area of Thickson Road North and Taunton Road East after receiving information from Toronto Police Service that two suspects involved in a shooting in Toronto earlier that afternoon were in the area. Air1 conducted an aerial search of the area and located the suspect vehicle in a driveway of a residence in Whitby. Shortly after, the vehicle left the residence and Air1 followed the vehicle into Oshawa, providing updates to TPS and DRPS officers on the ground. At one point, the suspect got into another vehicle, which Air1 began to follow. At approximately 5:15 p.m., units were able to box in the vehicle the suspects fled on foot. Air1 followed one suspect, and he was taken into custody. At approximately 6:00 p.m. Air1 located the second suspect in a nearby playground and he was taken into custody. Officers also located a firearm and a quantity of drugs. One male from Oshawa and one male from Toronto are facing multiple charges and were held for bail hearings. To see TPS’ release: . -30-

Police are also seeking two more suspects in this investigation. On November 23, 2024 at approximately 3:20 a.m., a spa in the area of Dufferin Street and Wilson Avenue in Toronto was robbed at gunpoint by three suspects. An hour later, at approximately 4:20 a.m., a second robbery occurred at a spa in the area of Birchmount Road and 14th Avenue in Markham. Three suspects forced their way into the business while armed with a firearm. They stole one of the victim’s vehicles and fled with a quantity of cash. In both incidents the suspects arrived in a stolen white Acura. On November 28, 2024, investigators located the stolen Acura and three suspects were taken into custody for possession of the stolen vehicle. On December 6, 2024, at approximately 1 a.m., a third armed robbery of a spa occurred in the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Steeles Avenue in Toronto. On December 8, 2024, two additional robberies were reported, one at approximately 3:20 a.m., in the area of Carlingview Drive and Renforth Drive, and the other at 3:45 a.m., in the area of Finch Avenue and Keele Street. In both incidents the suspects arrived at the scene in a stolen Toyota Highlander. On December 10, 2024, two search warrants were executed at residences in the City of Toronto with the assistance of the York Regional Police Emergency Response Unit. On July 19, officers conducted a traffic stop near Narcoossee Road and Dowden Road. During the investigation, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle. The search resulted in the recovery of two handguns, cannabis, scales and plastic baggies. As a result of the investigation, Noah Nelquan Agosto was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of tetrahydrocannabinols. Zavian Alexander Chaves was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis with intent to sell/deliver with a weapon, possession of tetrahydrocannabinols, and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.

VIDEO - AIR SUPPORT UNIT ASSISTS IN ARRESTS FOLLOWING JEWELRY STORE ROBBERY IN RICHMOND HILL Offices responded to a jewelry store robbery in the area of Yonge St and Levendale Rd in Richmond Hill yesterday, shortly after 3:30 p.m. Three suspects were seen using hammers to smash glass cases. A quantity of jewelry was stolen and the suspects fled in a silver SUV driven by a fourth suspect. One employee received minor injuries after being assaulted by one of the suspects. Using out Air Support Unit helicopter, Air2, the vehicle was located in the City of Toronto where the suspects fled but were quickly taken into custody. The vehicle used by the suspects was confirmed to be stolen. Of the four suspects charged, Marlando MITCHELL, 24 of Brampton, and the two youths, were out on a combined 10 release orders at the time of the incident. One of the youths was also on probation. “The teamwork demonstrated by York Regional Police is a testament to the professionalism and commitment our officers have in pursuing individuals who commit violent acts in our communities,” states Police Chief Jim MacSween. “Of the four suspects arrested, one adult and two youths were out on release orders. CASH-IN-TRANSIT HEIST RUSTENBURG Police have launched an investigation following a CITRobbery that occurred at approximately 16:40 on Monday, 16 February 2026, in Old Geelhout Park, Rustenburg. It is alleged that security personnel were travelling in a cash-in-transit vehicle along Kremetart Street when a Toyota Fortuner travelling in the opposite direction collided with the driver’s side door of the cash vehicle. The vehicle was forced to stop and was subsequently blocked by a Toyota Hilux (Legend) double cab bakkie. Approximately 15 armed suspects allegedly overpowered the security officers and instructed them to unlock the doors. The guards were removed from the vehicle, dragged a short distance away from the cash vehicle and made to lie face down on the ground. One armed guard was disarmed while the suspects gained access to the vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects allegedly set alight both the cash-in-transit vehicle and the Toyota Fortuner used in the collision. Several shots were fired during the incident. The suspects fled the scene, and no injuries were reported. Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage. The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the North West, Major General (Dr) Ryno Naidoo, urged members of the public to report serious crimes immediately and cautioned that suspects involved in such crimes are dangerous and should not be confronted. Project Magenta was launched by members of the West Division Criminal Investigations Branch after investigators identified links between a series of commercial break-and-enters, vehicle thefts, attempted vehicle thefts, thefts from vehicles, fraud-related offences, and the use of stolen vehicles in the commission of the offences. Between June and September 2026, the group was responsible for 36 incidents across Durham Region and Toronto, including eight commercial break-and-enters and 15 vehicle theft-related offences involving stolen vehicles, attempted vehicle thefts, thefts from vehicles, and licence plate thefts. The investigation began after suspects committed two smash-and-grab break-ins at trading card retailers in Ajax on June 14, 2026, resulting in approximately $148,000 worth of merchandise being stolen. Investigators also linked the group to a break and enter at Oliver Jewellery in Pickering, where suspects allegedly used stolen vehicles in an attempt to force entry into the business. The businesses targeted included jewelery stores, cannabis dispensaries, trading card retailers, and pawn shops. Investigators determined that stolen vehicles were frequently used to facilitate offences, including incidents where vehicles were driven into storefronts to gain entry. The offences connected to Project Magenta resulted in nearly $1 million in known losses and damages to businesses, vehicle owners, and the community. “Organized property crime is not a victimless offence. It causes significant financial harm, undermines the community’s perception of safety, and fuels further criminal activity,” said Acting Deputy Chief Glenn Courneyea. Investigators from the West Division Crime Team, assisted by members of the Community Resource Unit and East Division Crime Team, executed multiple search warrants at residences throughout the Greater Toronto Area. New: Two Teens Arrested in Macon After Theft and Shooting A Ring camera captured two masked teens pointing firearms at the front door while one snatched scooters from the porch. Moments after leaving with the scooters, the two fired at a nearby vehicle. The driver was not injured. Seventeen-year-old Brandon Marquez Mitchell and a 15-year-old were later caught in possession of the scooters. Mitchell was already wanted for armed robbery. Mitchell is charged with armed robbery with no bond. The juvenile is charged with aggravated assault, theft by taking, possession of stolen property, interference with government property, and possession of a firearm by a minor.

Brooklyn: Coney Island Avenue & Avenue M, four people were taken into custody Tuesday night following a violent robbery that left a 23-year-old man injured. According to police, the incident occurred Tuesday at approximately 3:50 p.m. near Dahill Road & 38th Street, where the victim was sitting inside a park when he was approached by multiple individuals. A verbal dispute broke out and quickly escalated into a physical attack. The suspects allegedly punched and kicked the victim before stealing his jacket, wallet, and cellphone. They then fled the scene in a white Ford pickup truck. EMS transported the victim to Maimonides Hospital with minor injuries. Officers from the NYPD 66th Precinct, along with 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐫𝐢𝐦 and Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol, obtained the vehicle’s license plate and began tracking it. The truck was later located with all four suspects still inside. NYPD officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested all four occupants, who police say were responsible for the violent robbery. Brooklyn: Coney Island Avenue & Avenue M, four people were taken into custody Tuesday night following a violent robbery that left a 23-year-old man injured. According to police, the incident occurred Tuesday at approximately 3:50 p.m. near Dahill Road & 38th Street, where the victim was sitting inside a park when he was approached by multiple individuals. A verbal dispute broke out and quickly escalated into a physical attack. The suspects allegedly punched and kicked the victim before stealing his jacket, wallet, and cellphone. They then fled the scene in a white Ford pickup truck. EMS transported the victim to Maimonides Hospital with minor injuries. Officers from the NYPD 66th Precinct, along with 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐫𝐢𝐦 and Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol, obtained the vehicle’s license plate and began tracking it. The truck was later located with all four suspects still inside. NYPD officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested all four occupants, who police say were responsible for the violent robbery. Failed Cellphone Snatching Leads To Arrest Of Robbery Suspects In Durban North: On 11 February at approximately 18h15, while conducting routine patrols along Mackeurtan Avenue, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT) observed a white Toyota Etios parked near a well-known bar in Durban North, with its hazard lights activated. The vehicle immediately raised suspicion due to its unusual positioning, the behaviour of its occupants, and a modus operandi commonly associated with cellphone snatching incidents. SOT members discreetly positioned themselves to maintain observation without alerting the suspects. While under observation, the rear passenger exited the vehicle and approached nearby shops. Moments later, he attempted to snatch a cellphone from a member of the public. The attempt was unsuccessful, and the suspect immediately fled back toward the Etios, which had repositioned itself facing Adelaide Tambo Drive, seemingly preparing for a rapid escape. As soon as the suspect re-entered the vehicle, the driver attempted to flee the scene. SOT members, together with Durban North SAPS Crime Prevention, initiated a pursuit and successfully stopped the vehicle at the corner of Adelaide Tambo Drive and Mackeurtan Avenue. All three occupants were apprehended without further incident. Members returned to the area in an attempt to locate the victim of the attempted cellphone robbery; however, the victim had already left the scene and no contact details were available. All three suspects, together with the vehicle, were transported to Durban North SAPS for further processing. Further investigation, including the review of footage, confirmed that the same suspects were linked to a previous robbery in January on Millennium Boulevard in the Umhlanga Ridge area, with a case registered at Durban North SAPS.

Rather than stop, the suspects fled, leading troopers on a dangerous pursuit. During the pursuit, occupants of the suspect vehicle fired multiple rounds at pursuing troopers while traveling at high speeds, including driving the wrong way on SH 45 Toll. Despite the extreme danger posed by the suspects’ actions, no troopers or members of the public were injured. The pursuit came to an end near FM 620 in Cedar Park when the suspect vehicle crashed. Troopers quickly and safely took all four suspects into custody. A 9mm handgun believed to have been used during the incident was recovered. Three suspects have been charged with Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant (First-Degree Felony), and all four suspects have been charged with Organized Retail Theft ($750–$2,500) (State Jail Felony). The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are pending. At the end of the video police have been able to partially identify the suspects thanks to a recording on a train right before the incident.
