@ShimuzicF Keep shining Shimza, there’s a mammoth task ahead. Unlike the current powers who do very little to change things at grassroots, you’ve taken on a great responsibility. Wishing you every success with The Hub.

Charlene Ruto: The best thing we can do for our young people is create opportunities for them. I’d like to call on our young people, let’s not sit and be lazy. You are passionate about something, don’t give up on that. Reach out to us, give us your idea. I give a listening ear to somebody who has already started something other than somebody who is like give me a job. Which job? Where am I going to get the job from? #KenyasGold

Mamdani: I think oftentimes there's a condescension that people have when they talk about young voters and finger wag and say, you should get out there and don't ask them what would it take to bring you out here? When I talk to young people, what I hear from them, they feel like the only way they can stay in the city is if they keep living with their parents or leave the state entirely. We have to make it a place where they can aspire to dream in the city and also treat them with the seriousness that they deserve because what we'll find in our young people is leadership.

Hello Abuja, Today, as we gather to commemorate International Youth Day—a day that acknowledges the crucial role young people play in shaping our world's future—I am honored to stand in solidarity with the youth of our nation, particularly those in the FCT, and from around the world. I also wish to reaffirm our dedication to empowering them for a sustainable future. We stand at a critical juncture in human history, where the decisions we make today will shape the future of our planet. Climate change, inequality, and social injustice threaten our very existence. Yet, I stand before you with hope, inspired by the passion, creativity, and determination of our young people. Youth empowerment is not only a moral imperative but also an economic and social necessity. Investing in our youth means investing in our future. We must provide them with access to quality education, skills training, and opportunities for participation in decision-making processes. As leaders, we must create an enabling environment that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity. We must listen to their voices, value their perspectives, and support their initiatives. We must also address the systemic barriers that prevent many young people from reaching their full potential. To the young people of the FCT, I say this: we hear you, we see you, and we believe in you. We will work tirelessly to ensure you have the resources, support, and opportunities you need to thrive. Let us join forces to build a world that is just, equitable, and sustainable for all—a world where young people can grow, flourish, and lead. Happy International Youth Day! -Iretikingibe

This is exactly what I’ve been saying. The game is clear: keep people poor, insecure, and dependent… then show up with rice and call it “dividends of democracy” just to harvest votes. That’s why some people are uncomfortable with Pantami for Gombe. An educated and empowered population doesn’t clap for handouts. They ask questions. They demand jobs, skills, infrastructure, and real accountability. Pantami is talking about investing in people education, modern skills, opportunities that can take young people from $0 to global careers. You don’t liberate anyone by giving them rice forever. You liberate them when they no longer need the rice.

Nigeria’s young people do not need a government that teaches them how to survive hardship. They need a government that gives them the opportunity to prosper. The cost-of-living crisis has stripped millions of Nigerians of purchasing power, weakened small businesses and pushed too many young people farther away from jobs, capital and economic independence. My commitment is to change that. We will restore purchasing power, reduce the cost of living and deliberately expand opportunities for young Nigerians, including through a $10 billion financing programme for start-ups and entrepreneurs. Our objective is simple: move young Nigerians from dependence to enterprise, from unemployment to productivity, and from palliatives to prosperity. It was against this background that I was pleased to receive, this afternoon, a nationwide delegation of N-Power beneficiaries who came to declare their support for my presidential candidacy. I thanked them for their confidence and reiterated that Nigeria cannot build its future by distributing poverty. We must build an economy that creates jobs, rewards enterprise and gives every young Nigerian a fair chance to succeed. The choice before us is between continuing with an economy that shrinks opportunities and building one that restores hope, dignity and prosperity. We will make Nigeria affordable again. —AA

-I hate people like this guy to be honest, they are teaching people nonsense! Why would a whole pastor teach people that working hard and being focused will not make you money? -What do you want kids and young people to learn from this sermon? -Why do people quickly pick broke professionals and try to compare them with one or two exceptional people like Scot ? -Why don’t you compare apple with apple ? -Education has made more people rich and their lives better than lucky has done ? -By the way most of us as young people we don’t even want to be rich like Scot all we want is to put food on the table,

I recently met with some bright young men from our My Brother's Keeper Alliance programs in Chicago and Newark who had the chance to go on a cultural exchange in Brazil. It was a life changing experience – and a reminder of why it’s so important to invest in our young people and give them a chance to experience different cultures and broaden their own understanding.

We teach our students entrepreneurship from a young age. This is an annual flea market where students bring their used toys, books and anything they don’t want to school to sell to their fellow schoolmates and even teachers. Before the market starts, we teach them how to advertise, price, negotiate and give change. This way, they can learn the art of buying and selling, get rid of things they don’t want and have fun. These are practical skills and knowledge that we should also give our children in Nigeria. Not all of them, but some of them will find their calling in business and can start at a young age. Our teachers have an instrumental role to play in teaching them, encouraging them and gaining other skills other than just teaching students what is in text books. The online world now is providing more opportunities to do business, and kids should be in this action. It will sow seeds for our future business ecosystem and add more value to our economy.

I love this idea from Bending Spoons founder Luca Ferrari: Find someone young and talented and “saturate their capacity.” “Everybody at the company should have way more on their plate than feels even remotely comfortable.” “Let's say you have 10 possible tasks, each with a certain ROI attached. If I add an 11th, assuming you select well, it's impossible that adding an 11th task will lower the ROI of what you choose to do because you still have the other 10.” “If this is a lower ROI than the others, you're going to do the others. But it's possible that it happens to be the highest ROI of all, and so you end up doing something more valuable.” “The more work you give people, the better the opportunity for them to create value.” “When you give people a lot more work than feels comfortable, you're really forcing them to come to terms with the immensity of the possible.”

. Jeremy Boreing asked me how we can help young men find meaning and purpose. Not philosophically…practically. First, I addressed what we are doing wrong. We are not meeting them where they are, on their terms, and until we do that, they won’t be receptive. Gen-Z is not proactively seeking advice, so we have to bring it to them. Second, we need to acknowledge that certain things in their life ARE hard. Too many in the “older” generations are not acknowledging this and simply telling them to “suck it up.” But…we then need to demonstrate to them that life has always been hard and we need to give them that perspective. How do we do this? Make “rites of passage” great again. Getting your driver’s license (I meet so many young people who simply Uber everywhere and thus never got a license). Making the varsity football team (so many young people gave up on sports during Covid). Asking a girl on a date: face-to-face. You become a “legal” adult on your 18th birthday. But you become an actual adult when you acquire enough life experiences that deem you mature enough to BE an adult and these come through rites of passage. Right now we have a generation of young males trying to “learn” manhood from the manosphere which is the definition of immaturity. A “rite of passage” is about triumphing through and beyond something. The manosphere’s business model is to keep young men stuck. It creates followers, not leaders. Perhaps the most important rite of passage we can provide these young men right now is to leave this nonsense and go on with building their lives on their own terms. Young men need the dirt under their fingernails that comes from REAL life experiences, not the calluses on their fingers that come from constant screen swipes.

Have you ever gone to get food with someone that gives you anxiety with the way they order? A young lady always dreads that someone will tamper with their food because of the way her grandmother orders. These places are always busy and with all of the special requests they are always doomed to get something wrong which will prompt her to engage with them and often humiliate the young lady. Do you think she tries to give people a hard time because it’s fun for her or are some people just this picky?

America needs people who know how to build things, fix things and make things work. Electricians. Technicians. Welders. Plumbers. Construction workers. Manufacturing experts. These careers matter. The people who do them matter. And America’s future depends on them. America is currently facing a skilled trades crisis: an estimated 2.1 million positions could go unfilled by 2030. Meanwhile, many young adults are unaware of how to pursue these careers. The issue isn’t a lack of demand or opportunity. It’s making sure the next generation knows where those opportunities are and how to get started. That’s why Ford Motor Company is proud to be a founding partner in a new Ad Council effort with Dycom, The The Home Depot and the Wallace Foundation to help more young people understand the opportunities available in the trades. There are incredible careers available for people who want to work with their hands, solve real problems and build things that matter. We need these skills to build the future of America. And we need to do a much better job showing young people what’s possible. That’s my hope for this new campaign… to make these careers easier to see and easier to pursue. Derrick Feldman, Managing Director at Ad Council Research Institute, wrote more about the launch of this campaign today on From the Road: #EssentialEconomy #FordAccelerate #Accelerate2026 #SkilledTrades

I have no idea where this video is from. I found it on Reddit, but this explains humanity so well. This man walks into a Chinese Restaurant for takeout. He immediately begins speaking perfect Chinese, with a perfect accent. He has a conversation with the staff, who calls him "one of us," and then they proceed to give him his food for free. This is humanity. Everyone should take a chance to learn about others, identify with others, and empathize with others. We often see more racist people in small towns rather than in large cities. This isn't necessarily their faults. This is because racism is mostly built on "the unknown" and people tend to fear the unknown. Once you get to know people and befriend people from other races, religions, sexual orientations, gender ideologies, and ethnicities, you have a tendency to better understand where they come from. This is why learning about other cultures, religions, and even languages is so important. It's why studying history, and sociology are important. Reach out to someone you don't identify well with and try to learn about them today. It will help humanity tomorrow.
